This weekend was pretty interesting. First of all Kelli left on Friday before I got home. Her dad took her to a friend's house and she was with her until late Saturday evening. The other 3 of us on Saturday went out for lunch and ran errands. We celebrated Tracy's birthday (which was Tuesday) by taking him out to the lunch of his choice. He picked The Old Spaghetti Warehouse. The food was good and the company even better.
Then Sunday morning we had Sunday School and Church and then Kerri and I went home to take care of the dog because we had 2 more services to attend that day. Tracy and Kelli came later. Tracy then let me know that Kelli's new boyfriend asked him after church if he could date Kelli. Isn't that just the sweetest thing? He actually asked her daddy. I think that moved him up a few notches in her daddy's eyes. I know it did mine. That had to take a lot of nerve for a 17 year old boy to ask. Tracy said he told him as long as they kept Jesus in the middle of everything, it would be fine. He told him Kelli had a curfew of midnight and he said that's all right his curfew was 11:00P. I love it! That just cracked me up. So Kelli will be home at an even better time because he has to drive about 20-30 minutes to get home after dropping her off. God sure knows how to take care of things we worry about, doesn't he?
Now see, even though she's almost 18, we've never let her actually car date. Boys could meet her at church or youth or some event we were at or even go out to lunch with us on Sundays, but never car date. This is where the growing up part for Tracy and I is coming. up. I guess we're learning. Although, I'm just glad he asked her daddy and not me!!! lol
Oh My Goodness we're just beginning with this one and we have another one that's almost 15 and we'll have to start all over again. Tell me, does it get any easier?!?
At least they keep us on our knees praying, so I guess it's good for us!
