If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Friday Foto Friends

I'm linking up with Friday Foto Friends this week.  You can click here if you'd like to link up.

While we were in vacation in South Carolina we went to this small community and they had these sleds on several of the corners.  I thought they were really neat, so I think I'll share them with you.

Hope you have a great day.

Thankful Thursday

Things I am thankful for today and not in any particular order:

**time to crochet and knit.  I finished this hat the other night for my youngest daughter.  No she wants me to make a new hat for my grandson.  Of course Gigi is always happy for an excuse to buy some new yarn.

**I'm happy to be back home with this little pup.  I sure do miss her when we travel, but she does not travel well and is better off at the kennel.  She seems really happy and content to be home too.

This is right after her bath.  She's not necessarily happy here.  lol

Sacked out with her Santa blanket.
**My daughters and grandson.  I love my family so much and feel so blessed by God to have them.
I love this photo of them
**Hallmark Christmas Movies - I'm glad to have something to watch that I know will be clean and just plain fun.  Hokey...yes, but I still love them.

See I've got the tree up, it's just not decorated yet.

**McDonald's Hot Chocolate.  Sometimes a girl just needs something hot and chocolate on these cold mornings.

**Vacation.  I feel so blessed to have had 2 1/2 weeks of this view and time with family and my hubby where we were relaxed and could do what we wanted when we wanted or do nothing at all.

Sunset

Another sunset
**I'm also thankful for my church family and being back with them to worship together.

Life is good and God is even better.  So what are you thankful for?  If you'd like you can click here to link up with Thankful Thursday.

Thanks for visiting.

Wednesday Medley

Click here if you'd like to link up with Wednesday Medley.  And thank you Terri for the questions.

1.  On November 28th, 1995, President Bill Clinton ended the 55 MPH nationwide speed limit that began in 1974 as an energy saving measure during the Mid-East oil embargo.  If you are old enough to remember this (I sure am) did it make you happy?  Do you have a heavy foot when driving or does 55 MPH sound good to you?
I remember and yes I’m glad the speed limit was raised.

2.  You are home alone on a rainy/snowy Sunday afternoon.  What Christmas movie will you watch?
Miracle on 34th Street

3.  What is something you have tried that you will never try again?
I tasted 2 sips of champagne one time and I will never do that again. It was awful!

4.  Today is National French Toast Day!!  Will you have some?  Do you like French Toast?
No I don’t think I’ll be having French toast today. Yes, I do like it but I typically save it for vacation.

5.  The Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center will be lighted today, as will the one at the White House in Washington, D.C.  Do you have your tree up and is it lighted?  Have you ever been in New York City or Washington, D.C. to see the trees all lit up during the holidays?
My tree is up and is lit but is not decorated yet. No I’ve never been to New York or Washington D.C. for the holidays. But I would love to some day..

6.  Tell us something random about this week of yours.
I did a virtually 5K last Friday and earned this.

That’s my 2nd 5K this year and I still have one more to do in December.

Thanks for visiting.

Vacation

Hubby and I had a great vacation.  It just flew by so fast and when we think back over to what we did, we have trouble remembering.  Actually there really weren't any big sightseeing things but we still had just the best time.  We relaxed a lot and visited with some family and watched some Hallmark Christmas movies and I spent some time on the beach shell hunting and looking for shark's teeth.  It really was a wonderful and relaxing vacation.  I just feel so blessed.

I'll show you a few pictures of our trip.

Sunrise the first morning

Lunch with hubby's parents - can you see that ocean right there.  We love this place

We took a boat ride and learned all about growing rice in this area back in the day.

We saw this big fella on the river bank.  He was probably at least 6 feet long.

Have to do this every year now.

My sister and husband came down and spent a few days too.  It was so nice being with them.

Shark tooth my sister found (the first of many).  We were all hooked after that.

Went to a neighboring town and had lunch with my husband's cousin and husband and have a real nice fist.

A bunch more shark's teeth

Oh and we did a lot of shopping!  lol

Not the greatest picture, but I had to prove I was there too.  lol

A hat I made while on vacation.
So now, I'm back to work, but we made so many great memories just doing simple things and I will never regret that.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Thankful Thursday

I probably won't be doing a lot of blogging while on vacation, but I didn't want to miss Thankful Thursday.  I think it's so important to be intentionally thankful, so here I am.  If you'd like to participate, click here to get to Rebecca's webpage.  Rebecca is our host and if you haven't met her, I know you would really like her.

Things I am thankful for:

Vacation - It is so nice to get some time away from work and the daily stresses of life

Hubby - I'm so happy to get this time to spend with him and relax and just enjoy being together.

Ocean - Again this year we are right on the beach.  I'm sitting in the room right now typing this, but the door is open and I'm listening to the surf.  It is just so relaxing.

Balcony - I love spending time sitting on the balcony and looking out and watching the people, the boats, the waves, the birds and just thanking God for it all.

Sitting on the balcony watching the ocean

In-laws - We are so enjoying getting to spend time with my husband's parents.  They are fun to be with and we are blessed to still have them and that they still love to travel.  I am so thankful for the new memories we are making.

Lunch with hubby and the in-laws

Sister - I called my sister our first day here and asked her and her husband to come down and spend some time with us.  And guess what!  They said yes, and should even now be on their way.  They are only staying 3 days, but I am so excited for her to come.  She loves the ocean as much as I do and hasn't been to the beach in 20 years.  I can't wait to get out and walk the beach with her again.  We used to travel together all the time, but it's been a long time now.  It's gonna be so much fun.

God has blessed me so much and being here keeps me continuously in mind of that.

So that's all I'll put for now because I can hear the waves calling me to come back outside.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a blessed day.

Friday Foto Friends

Click here to join in with Deb for Friday Foto Friends.

This tree is in the lot of our local Taco Bell.  I think I take a picture about every year.  I just love the colors and the shape of the tree.

My little grandson puppy!

A new hat protject I've started.

I love this mum.  It's from my mother's funeral 3 years ago.  I think it gets prettier every year.

Pretty skies in my neighborhood while walking with the dog.
Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

Thankful Thursday

It's Thursday and that means it's time to be intentionally thankful.  Click here to join in with Rebecca.

This week I'm thankful for:

**Completing the 5K on Saturday:  I already posted about that here on Monday.  But I just want to say again I am so thankful for my cousins who went with me and encouraged me.  With their help and God's help, I made it to the end.  In fact, I signed up for 2 more 5K's to do this year.  They are virtual 5K's and I think I'll walk them on the beach over the next couple of weeks.  That should be a lot easier than in the cold and mud.  lol

**Upcoming vacation and parents:  That leads me to be thankful for my upcoming vacation.  We'll be getting time with my husband's parents.  They are getting up in age and I'm so thankful for any time we can spend with them.  Since my parents are gone now, I'm so blessed to be able to share his parents.

**Changes at work and adjusting:  I'm thankful for the prayers from people about my job situation.  I am starting to adjust to the changes and am learning again how to do the job I did 20 years ago (which has completely changed).  I'm so thankful that I'm starting to pick it up again and I know it's probably really good to have to stretch myself this way.  So if you prayed for me, thank you.

**My oldest daughter:  She turned 27 this week.  I mean, really!  How did that happen?  I am so proud of her and her accomplishments and how hard she is working to earn her Master's.  Again, I am so blessed to be her mom.

So what are you thankful for this week?
