1. The NFL playoffs were held this past weekend and this year's Superbowl lineup will feature The New York Giants versus The New England Patriots. How do you define 'patriot'?
I would define it as someone who is loyal to their country and is willing to stand for what they believe in.
2. What's something in your life right now that feels like a 'giant'?
This weight loss journey I've just started.
3. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think back to being 18?
How young and naive I was.
4. Coconut-mashed potatoes-vanilla ice cream-mayonnaise...which white food would be the hardest to give up?
Mashed potatoes
5. Describe an incident or a day you remember as the coldest you've ever experienced?
Probably one of the days when we've been out shoveling our drive-way and everything was covered in ice and then coming in and fixing "real" hot chocolate instead of the instant kind.
6. You're hosting a brunch...what's your favorite dish to prepare and serve?
I've never hosted a brunch, but one of the breakfast dishes I like to serve when my girls had sleepovers was French Toast.
7. How do you combat negative thinking?
By thinking positively! lol Don't you wish it was just that easy? Actually, through prayer and scripture reading and talking and praying with my hubby.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Has anyone seen "Joyful Noise" with Dolly Partin and Queen Latifah yet? Is it any good? I really want to see this, but I'm waiting for it to come to our local $5.00 theater.

I've not seen the movie but it does sound good. Like you I'm waiting to see it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that movie, but it's on my list. We rarely go to the theater ... no cheap theater here, and with DH's poor hearing, we prefer to watch on DVD so I can turn up the volume and turn on the closed captioning.
ReplyDeleteI want to see that movie too.. but it opened the weekend of B&theB so you KONW which one I picked :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on that weight loss journey... it can be VERY tough!
I haven't seen that movie yet. I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen it but I've heard people say they love it. I like both Dolly and Queen Latifah so I'm sure it's good. I'm with my mom today and we may see a movie-that might be one she would like too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Hi Cathy!
ReplyDeleteI have got to see that movie! I am a huge Dolly Parton fan! Wow...a $5.00 movie is unheard of around here!
Great answer for #2. I didn't even think of that yet that giant is here too! Haven't seen that movie yet. I here you on the $5. movies!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to seeing that movie too, but waiting till it comes to our cheaper theater. I love that theater, it may not have the bells and whistles, but I am just there to watch the movie not move in...lol I think ours is usually $3.00 for Sr. Citizens...I tell my hubby he is the reason we get in for that rate...lol. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteuntil next time... nel
Your word for 2012 scripture goes good with your thoughts on combating negativity. Thankfully we don't go by our feelings but by faith right?
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie but it looks like it's a good one. I always go on Focus on the Family website and they have a link called pluggedin and it will tell you the negative and positive of all movies.
ReplyDeleteCathy,
ReplyDeleteYes, we must be practically neighbors! We took our kids to the museum at WPAFB many years ago, and I remember it being very cool. I look forward to taking my grandson there after David and Shylah move. I know he will love it. Oh, and sorry about the Buckeye comments. :)
i'm w/ u on wanting to see that movie...
ReplyDeleteit has to be funny
Haven't seen the movie.....have heard it was worth seeing.
ReplyDeleteI think there's something wonderful about being naive. It helps us by making us a bit fearless and more willing to take chances, not hindered by knowing too much about the world. Good luck with your weight loss plan. Kudos to you for starting it!!!
