Friday Fragments - Lucy

Half-Past Kissin' Time

*  Puppies are a lot of fun - no doubt about it!  However, they are some work too!  I've been so used to just putting Lily on a lead and letting her out the door.  Can't do that with a little one.  We have to go out with her.

*  We've had her 2 weeks as of yesterday (Thursday) and it seems like it's either been raining or freezing cold ever since she came home. Maybe winter isn't the best time to get a puppy.  lol

*  Now, we have snow!  We were only supposed to get about 3 inches.  I'd say we have closer to 6-8 inches.  Now her little legs are only about 3-4 inches long.  So needless to say, the snow is too deep for her.  She totally cracks me up, because all she can do is jump in it.  Too funny!  Wish I could get a video, but it's too hard to hold her and video at the same time.

*  Have you ever shoveled the grass?  I did just a bit ago, so she'd have some place to pee & poo.  Oh well, it should be easier for her now.

*  Winter may not be the best time to get a puppy...but tell me, could you resist this face?

  1. Winter and puppies are not always a good mix. We have a weather warning because it is so cold and being reminded to care for our pets.

  3. It IS hard to pass up that face ... she's adorable!! We got our dogs in the winter, and you're right ... not the best time to get a puppy. If we get another dog, it will definitely be late spring or summer.

  5. Not sure there is ever a 'good' time to get a puppy : ) They are always a lot of trouble, but oh so worth it. We shovel the grass here on a regular basis. We got a pile of snow yesterday, and hubs was out this morning shoveling the back yard. Whatever works, right? Have fun with Miss Lucy!

  6. Oh my gosh... so cute! We got Sydney in January & I said I'd never get another puppy in winter. But we got Harvey too close to winter - so yes, a lot of going out in the cold to help him along.
& yes, we shovel "poop paths" too :) Especially because Sydney refuses to get wet. :)

  8. That is a tough face to resist! At least she's trying to go outside! Our three year old eternal "puppy" still thinks rugs and piles of clothes are much better! LOL
    Happy new year!

  10. Aww....she is so cute. Yes the training is about being consistent and taking them outside often. Winter may not be the best time but she is definitely worth it!
