If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Saturday 9 - Forever Your Girl

"Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!"  From Crazy Sam and you can link up here.

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here Saturday 9: Forever Your Girl (1989)

1) In this song, Paula Abdul tells her boyfriend he's got to remember, she's forever his girl. How's your memory? Do you remember things easily or do you leave yourself notes and reminders?  I've never had a very good memory.  I really need to write things down.  I especially had to do that at work.  Of course, there were times when I'd handle a phone call and would scribble some notes down, and then an hour later I'd have trouble remembering what the note was for.  lol

2) Paula reassures her lover that she can't be swayed by another man, even if he gave her diamonds or pearls. Tell us about a piece of jewelry that means something to you. My wedding rings and now I have my dad's wedding band.

3) Paula is best known as one of the original judges of American Idol. Without looking it up, can you recall the men who sat on either side of her? No idea.  I've never really watched the show too much, although now I catch some of the auditions on FB and enjoy them.

4) Paula has been dancing since age 8 and moves very well in heels. Tell us about your favorite shoes. My Skechers and I have several pairs.

5) A lifelong dancer, Paula admits she's not a trained singer. For this record, she worked with producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, who won accolades for his work with singers including Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Toni Braxton and Janet Jackson. Who is your all-time favorite female singer? Not sure I have a favorite, but I do like Rosemary Clooney, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline (and most all of the old-time country singers), Reba, and many of the women from Southern Gospel Music.

6) She advises young girls to "keep the faith and don't lose your gut instinct." How about you? Are you more logical or instinctive? Instinctive

7) Paula is excited that Richard Branson has chosen her song, "Straight Up" as the theme for his Virgin Galactic Spaceflight company. Would you like to orbit above the earth? Yes

8) In 1989, when this song was a hit, the Sears Holiday Wish Book was big on bathrobes. Men and women alike were tempted with brightly colored, belted robes with hoods and patch pockets. Tell us about your bathrobe. I don't have one.

9) Random question: What do you consider your best quality? That I tend to look on the bright side and I try to be an encourager to others.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Cathy

  1. Oh, Patsy Cline! I'm so glad you mentioned her. She had the most fabulous voice. My favorite is "She's Got You."

  3. Patsy Cline! That's going back a bit. Good choice. My handwriting is bad, so I frequently scribble stuff and then I can't read it, and have to hope that its mere presence helps me remember what it was for.

    1. I was only 6 when she passed away and I really wasn't familiar with her until the movie about Loretta Lynn (Coal Miner's Daughter) was made. I fell in love with her music then!

  6. I also love Sketchers and have a couple of (maybe three!) pairs. About memory from Notes: If you have a program that prints out your own designs of things, Word Perfect does for instance, you can design a custom note pad for yourself. My memory got erased when I fell and broke my shoulder, hit my head on the stove. Curiously, the only thing gone was my Netflix shows. I am happily watching them again.
