*RAAM 2014: Have you ever heard of it. RAAM is Race Across America which is a bike race. It starts in California and ends in Maryland and it goes right in front of our church. There are single riders and team riders. One of the teams is 8 riders from Britain called the Michael Matthews Foundation. Two of the riders are Pippa and James Middleton, brother and sister to Princess Kate. Anyway, hubby and I have been following the race some and found out their team would be passing this evening, so we went to watch. Of course, only one is riding and it just had to be raining, but I did get a picture of the rider. It appears to be a male but I couldn't tell who it was. But here's my picture.

That's all I have for this week. Have a great weekend everyone!!
Interesting post.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteToo bad you didn't get a clear look at the rider. i love those puffy, popcorn clouds.
ReplyDeleteYes, I was hoping for a better look, but it was still fun.
DeleteGreat sky photo! Love the lighting!
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteWow! Those clouds look amazing. That's quite a bike ride! i wonder if there's a ride across Europe; they're pretty bike-friendly there, I think.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!! Have a great weekend.
I don't know, but I do know there are riders from all over the world in this race.
DeleteWhat a lovely sky! I love how Grandma Barb described the clouds - puffy and popcorn :) That will motivate me to go watch Grace of Monaco or Chinese Puzzle this weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteCalifornia to Maryland! WOW! I can barely make it around the block. =)
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!!
I know, me too!
Deletewow...that's some bike ride! haha LOVE the cloud picture! Enjoy your week-end!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Deletethat's pretty cool that the race goes right by your church!!!
ReplyDeleteWe think so too. We welcomed them on our church sign. I hope some of them notice that. :)
DeleteToo bad it wasn't a better night for the race. Love the clouds!
ReplyDeleteI imagine they have hit all kinds of weather in their travels across the country, but I was a little disappointed in not being able to get a better picture. But there are a bunch more coming in today. I may or may not be able to catch one of them. Who knows!! Hubby got a pretty good picture of one earlier yesterday before the rain.
DeleteSo Pip & James weren't riding because of the rain???
ReplyDeleteMS has a couple of friends who did a ride across America to benefit their fraternity's philanthropy. Wonder if it's the same thing?
I heard Pippa was riding in Indiana yesterday, so it probably just wasn't her turn when she came by here. And it may have been James. I have not idea, but I do think it was a man.
DeleteI didn't even know Pippa was IN America! you'd think that'd be all over the entertainment news! So super cool you got to snap a pic!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have seen her, but anyway it was fun.
DeleteThose bikers went through these parts ... about 15 minutes from here, but it was late at night, so we didn't go out to see them. I know Pippa was riding in Missouri, not far from St. Louis, so it was on all the news programs here.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that bike race, but that would be one awesome ride, I'm thinking. Beautiful clouds.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about that race. Many years ago our little village sponsored a bike race around our small downtown area. It was interesting to watch.
ReplyDeleteI heard about the Middleton's riding in that race. I've never heard of the race itself but it sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine riding from California to Maryland, that is amazing. How awesome that Pippa and James do the ride. Also how cool that they were nearby to you. Very interesting! Beautiful sky photo.
