Saturday we got up early and went to breakfast at Bob Evans. Then we went to church. My dad's sister passed away a week ago and her memorial service was Saturday afternoon. We needed to be at the church to meet people and unlock as needed. While it was sad, it was also happy. She lived to be 90 years old and had been a Christian forever. So it was so nice to celebrate her life and to know we'll see her again one day. It was good being with family.
Above is my Aunt Hilda on her 90th birthday. She seemed to always have a smile on her face.
Above she is with her 4 surviving brothers. That's my dad on the left. These are some of the greatest people I've ever had the privilege of knowing.
Sunday was church and an afternoon at home. That's it for my weekend. Well, except that it's not over. Today is a holiday and I don't have to work. Plans are to go to breakfast and to Walmart and then to Michael's. All their yarn is on sale. I can't wait!!
Good morning! Sorry to hear about your aunt, but your right....to be blessed with 90 good years and to be a daughter of the King, was plenty of reason to celebrate. I am sure she will be missed, but the knowing you will see her again will get you through. Wish my hubby was off today but nope. I will spend it sewing....shocker, lol. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteIt's always sad when we lose a loved one, but our sadness is tempered if we know we'll see them again. Enjoy your day off!
ReplyDeleteI'm also sorry to hear about your aunt...what a full life she must have had!
ReplyDeleteYou must love Chinese food as much as me, Cathy! Sorry for the loss of your aunt, but glad you were able to be with your family. Funerals have a way of bringing families together. Enjoy your day off...heading to Wal-Mart myself shortly.
