If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.Romans 10:9 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.John 3:16
I hope you had a good weekend. I did and I think I'll share a bit with you.
On Friday, hubby and I each had a chiropractor appointment, then we picked up our grocery order and then went home. Later I met my sister and we went to Joann's ( the 2 in our area along with many more are closing down), then we hit the health food store, Sam's and Hobby Lobby. So fun!
I completed this puzzle.
On Saturday, hubby and I spent the entire day at home. We did some laundry, watched TV, read and relaxed. I started the day with Bible study and then I watched a couple Hallmark movies, crocheted and enjoyed something warm to drink. Off and on all day I worked on my blanket and finally finished it right before bed.
Started my Saturday out like this. Movie, Crochet, Hot drink. Perfect!
I finished this blanket late Saturday night.
On Sunday we went to church and then picked up some lunch from Gold Star Chili and then relaxed for the afternoon and back to church for the evening service. After church, I started a new blanket. This one is for me for the back of my chair. I love starting new crochet projects.
If you have been following along with our study of James, below is the pre-recorded video of #7 in the series.
I loved this weekend and I'm looking forward to a really good week. I hope you are too. I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah with Hello Monday.
Good Morning Monday and Happy President's Day!! It's been a nice quiet weekend for Hubby and me. Again, just the kind I like.
On Friday, we went to church and hubby pre-recorded the Sunday sermon. However, due to the weather, we didn't have church, so I'll plan to post that sermon next week after he preaches it next Sunday. After that I ran to Kroger and then we picked up an order for lunch at Cracker Barrel. We really didn't do anything special for Valentines. Actually, we seldom do, because our anniversary is the 18th, 4 days after Valentine's. Spent the evening crocheting and watching TV and reading.
Saturday, we spent the day at home all day and I did some reading, watched some TV and did some laundry and just enjoyed our day.
Sunday morning we got up and got ready for church and the longer we were up, we were getting more and more snow. We ended up canceling church and we spent another day at home. I didn't measure, but I'd say we ended up with 3-4 inches. Late in the afternoon both of our neighbors came over and cleared our drive and sidewalk. We have the best neighbors. I did some Bible Study and also read a lot. Did some crocheting too.
Some of my favorite moments on Sunday was watching the snow out the windows and listening to piano music and this fireplace scene. Also, took a really short nap during this time.
And that folks was my weekend. So how was yours? I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah.
On Friday, I did some Bible study and finished a book I started the day before called "I Don't Work Here", which was enjoyable.
I picked up lunch for hubby and I from Texas Roadhouse. Hubby got a ribeye and a double salad and I got the Dallas Filet, baked potato and a salad. Loved it so much. I then met up with my sister and we ran to T J Maxx and Homegoods. I ended up getting a bottle of clear OPI polish and some new emery boards that I have been needing. My sister bought a new pair of shoes. After that we went to Menard's because I broke my shower head on Thursday. So I picked up a new one and we headed on home after that. I also ordered another book for my Kindle and started it.
That evening hubby and I just pieced around for dinner and we watched some of the shows we've been binging on lately.
On Saturday, we spent the day at home, which was really nice. I did 4 or 5 loads of laundry and cleaned up the kitchen and read the new book I bought on Friday. It was another good one. Then I bought another good book and started it last night. My plans are to finish it sometime today. As I finish my books, you can see them in my side bar.
On Sunday we went to church and had a really good service. Picked up something from Arby's for lunch and then took a nap and I read some and finished the book I bought on Saturday. I know it seems I've read a lot, but these books are pretty short and don't take a lot of time to read. We went back to church and then enjoyed binging some TV again. Below is the pre-recorded video of the morning sermon.
That was pretty much our weekend. How was your weekend? I'm also linking up with Hollyand Sarah at Hello Monday.
We had a pretty quiet weekend. We've mostly been staying home since last Sunday and Monday when we were inundated with almost 10 inches of snow. We went out on Thursday to pick up our vehicle from the mechanic and to leave the other one for him to make a repair on, It seems to me like our vehicles have been in the garage more than out recently. Hope that trend is getting ready to change. If not, we may be shopping for a new one. We picked up lunch from McDonalds for us and for our dog. She loved it!
On Friday we headed into church so hubby could pre-record the Sunday service to put on YouTube. While the lot was cleared, it was still icy around the doors and we didn't want to take any chance of falling, so he'll record it on Monday and then post it to FB for anyone who's interested. I'll try to remember to come back here and link it up,
Sunday's Sermon
We got about 3-4 more inches of snow on Friday evening. On Saturday morning I went out to shovel the drive and the neighbor next door came out and helped. He did at least half of the drive for me and in no time it was done and the sun melted most of the rest of it. Later that afternoon, I drove to Cracker Barrel and picked up some lunch for us. I started a book Friday night in the middle of the night and read off and on throughout the day. Saturday night we watched some TV and just relaxed.
Sunday we went to church and had a good service. Hubby preached a good sermon from the book of James entitled How to Receive God's Wisdom. He encouraged us in 2025 to pray every day asking "Give me more of Jesus". I think that's a great idea. And since I had decided not to do a Word of the year, I've now decided to do a prayer of the year, asking everyday that God would give me more of Jesus. I believe God will honor that prayer.
After church, we picked up some lunch and came home, ate lunch and took a short nap and then I finished the book I was reading. I wrote a post for Sunday and then wrote part of this post. On the way to church Sunday evening there was another beautiful sunset.
Snow - I think I've seen enough for this winter! How about you? I mean I've enjoyed spending time at home instead of out running around. But I could do that without the snow. Anyway, it's been pretty and I've been blessed by our neighbors, but again, I'm ready for it to end. However, hubby tells me we're supposed to get more on Tuesday and also some temperatures around zero and below. Brrrr that's worse than the snow!
How was your weekend. I hope we all have a great week.
Cathy
I'm also linking up with Holly and Sarah at Hello Monday.
Here we are at the beginning of another new week. Mostly last week, was a really good week and most of the weekend was good too. But as always in life, there were some really hard things. But I know that God is in control and will take care of all those things too. He always has and He always will.
On Saturday I spent the morning with my sister. She was making bread and I wanted to watch and learn, well and of course, taste too. With all the steps and letting it rise, I was there probably around 3 hours. When waiting, we worked a puzzle together, which was also a lot of fun.
I love the color of her mixer.
All mixed up and sitting to rise for the first time.
Kneading it to let rise again.
Ready to separate into 2 loaf pans
Rising again in the pans
All done!
So pretty and she gave me a half a loaf to take home. It is absolutely delicious!
This is the puzzle we worked together.
Below is the Sunday morning pre-recorded sermon. Hubby records these during the week and then posts them on YouTube and FB a little after noon on Sunday.
That's about all I have for the weekend. How was your weekend? I'd love to know. I'm linking up today with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday. Thanks for visiting.
Hope you are having a good day. We slept in a little this morning and then we got ready and picked up some breakfast from Bob Evans and came to the church. I did not get but a couple of bites of my breakfast when a couple stopped in to see us. They used to come here to church, but for the last couple of years they are going to a church closer to their home. They had to drive around 40 minutes to get here and the husband is not in great health and she is now taking care of all of their home jobs that he used to do, plus all she already did. We miss them, but they stop in every once in a while and that has been really good. I so enjoyed catching up with them. Then another couple from church stopped in and we enjoyed seeing them and talking with them too. They are another elderly couple and they have some health issues too, and have decided, at least for a while, to attend a church nearer to their home. We are a small church and it is difficult for us when we lose people, but we have to stay encouraged and keep doing what God has called us to with the people (whom we love dearly) we have. We love our church and know that God will bring us more people when He sees fit. And most of all, we know that He will never leave us. If you pray, we would definitely appreciate prayer for our church.
Now onto the weekend.
On Friday hubby and I had a chiropractor appointment and then I caught with my sister and we went to a School Supply Store and I got some things for the church bulletin board. It's definitely time to change to a fall bulletin board. I'll be getting to that this week sometime. Then we went to Sam's and I got some stuff we needed. My favorite so far is one of their rotisserie chickens which I used to make a Chicken and Noodles recipe that my husband found. Friday evening we spent at home and I worked this puzzle.
This was a really fun puzzle to work.
Saturday was a nice day. We spent most of it at home. I cleaned part of the pantry. One shelf at a time works best for me.
This is much better.
I've enjoyed how the moon has been out still every morning for our walk.
We did go out for a bit. We took Lucy to the groomers, which she needed really bad as evidenced by the below photos. lol
She definitely looks much better.
I took the rotisserie chicken from Sam's and deboned it and added some other things and made chicken and noodles. It was pretty good, but I want to tweak it some before we make it again. I did 4 loads of laundry and we watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. So it was a little busy, but not too bad.
On Sunday we had church very good sermon on Yahweh Shalom (pre-recorded video below). Then we stopped and picked up a sandwich from Penn Station for lunch, took a nap and then back for our evening Bible Study on Grace and Truth. Very good study.
Well that's pretty much my weekend. I'm linking this post with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday.
Thanks for visiting and I'd love to hear about your weekend.
On Friday, we went to hubby's mom's and he worked on getting her iPad and Roku TV set up. She just recently got internet in her home. She and I went and picked up some lunch from Olive Garden and had lunch at her house. It was a good time of good food and good talking and getting her stuff set up. After that we headed home and had a quiet evening together, just the way we like it. Also, Friday was my blogoversary. I've been here since 2008. I can hardly believe it's been this long.
On Saturday, we ran some errands and then spent the rest of the day at home. I did some laundry and pulled out some fall decorations. That evening we watched the third Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Sunday we had church (pre-recorded sermon below) and brought home a sandwich for lunch and took a nap and then back for evening service.
Friday was our youngest daughter's 30th birthday and today, Monday is Colton's 8th Birthday. Man, time is going way too fast! Love these two lots.
Opened his gifts early
At Disney World on Saturday
Aunt Kelli, Colton & Kerri
Happy Birthday Kerri and Colton! Talk to you later today!
That was pretty much our weekend. Hope you had a good one. I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah at Hello Monday.
We had a really nice weekend. On Friday hubby had to go have a blood test and then I took him to the church for a couple hours. I met up with some former co-workers and we took a tour of the old Sheriff's Office and residence in our town. The building hasn't been used in 10 years and is in really bad shape. I hope someone will restore it to what it used to be.
I didn't get a picture of the outside on Friday, but stopped by on the way to pick up a friend for church Sunday morning.
This is the lady giving the tour...very interesting stuff.
I loved this stairwell and stain glass window.
I believe this room was the Sheriff's master bedroom and the wall behind the fan separated them from the jail cells. How'd you like to have to listen to the prisoners when they are brought in intoxicated in the middle of the night.
Some of the jail cells
I'm so glad I went and got to learn about some of the history of our town. After they finished with this being the residence for the sheriff and adult jail (although juveniles were housed there if needed.) They then turned it into the juvenile jail (which was there during the beginning of my career). After the juvenile detention center moved, it was turned into county offices and now it's been vacant for 10 years.
Worked this puzzle this weekend. I love working jigsaw puzzles in the fall and winter months. And my sister has bunches to share. I've done 2 so far and have brought three more home when I returned the first 2. I haven't started those yet. Below is the #2 puzzle and #1 is on Friday's post.
Saturday night we watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Love this annual (well almost annually) marathon. One movie a week.
On Sunday we had church and below is the pre-recorded sermon. We had a long nap in the afternoon, which was much needed on my part for sure.
Beautiful sun just before sunset as we were driving home.
So how was your weekend. I'd love to know. I'm linking up with Holly and Sarah at Hello Monday.
