If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Weekend

We had a nice weekend with beautiful weather.  Loved every single moment of it.

I met hubby and his parents on Friday after work.  Drove to Middletown and we ate at Rapid Fire Pizza.  This was a first for hubby and I and it was really good.  I got their Hawaiian Pizza and it was delicious.  It was so nice, just sitting and visiting with them for a bit.  We go out most Friday evenings with them now and they are just so fun to sit and talk with.  Hubby definitely comes from good stock.

Got up Saturday and cleaned up and stopped and got a light breakfast from Burger King and then went to a nearby park (this is the same on I walked in on Monday) and relaxed in the van.  Well, hubby relaxed and I got out and took a mile and a half walk.  I'm working towards doing a 5K at the end of October.  I walked a little shorter distance, but I did it at a quicker pace.  Got to build up my endurance, don't you know.

My walking path this week. Love this feature on my watch.

Then we went to Walmart and got some needed things and then home.  I had about an hour and a half to relax and then took off to pick up my sister so we could go visit my other sister.  We had a really nice visit and then we all went to the store together.  It's fun just being together.

Got home fairly early, so hubby and I got a little TV time in and just spent the evening together.

Sunday we had a wonderful church service and Sunday School.  We had a really good sermon about how God guides us and has a plan for us.  How he doesn't tell us the future, but always gives us the next step.  Just following him one day at a time will get us to where he wants us to be each day.  So much of the time I want to know where I'm going to be a year from now or 5 years from now, but if I just follow Him each day, I'll be exactly where He wants me in 5 years.  Pretty simple really.

After church we went to Lowes to pick up a couple things and then got some lunch and went home and took a nap.  Well, I did.  I don't think hubby ever did nap.  Then back for evening service.

And now it's Monday and back to work for another week.

Hope you had a great weekend and that you'll have a wonderful week.

Thanks for visiting.

Things I'm thankful for:

**Walk:   Hubby and I went to a park to just sit and relax and then I decided to take a walk and ended up just shy of 2 miles.  I'm trying to build up to be able to do a 5k at the end of October that I've signed up for.  I was pleased with my results and also with some of the beautiful scenes I saw.

Ducks (or maybe geese, I can't tell) on the shore

I love that my watch maps and gives this information.
I'm enjoying crocheting this new stitch (new to me) called the waffle stitch.  Working on a baby blanket for a friend.

Love when Lucy comes and sits with me in the evening.  I'm afraid hubby is going to have to fight her for his blanket when I'm finished.  I guess I'll have to make her one too.  lol

Of course as always I'm thankful for my grandson.  He's shopping with mommy and must have thought he needed this toy.  Of course, Gigi has already bought it for him for when he comes to my house.  There will definitely be some bowling going on.  lol

I'm thankful for Rebecca who keeps this Thankful Thursday stuff going.  I need this reminder to stay thankful in all things.

I'm also thankful for everyone who participates and also for all of you who read my blog from time to time.

Thanks for visiting.

Things I am thankful for:

Hospital:  Sounds like a weird thing to be thankful for, but I'm glad we have a hospital within 20 minutes of us.  While we don't personally use this hospital, hubby's parents and my sister do.  So taking my sister to the doctor (inside the hospital) this morning was a very easy task.  Things are looking pretty good for her right now.

On Friday evening my father-in-law was taken to the emergency room as his blood counts were very low and they wanted him to have some blood.  They then admitted him for some tests, etc and held him until Sunday.  They are suspecting his bone marrow has quit making blood cells.  Fortunately he is home and doing pretty well right now.  Prayers for him would be greatly appreciated and also his wife who is his caretaker.  Very hard on her and my hubby and his brother having to make decisions for their father and husband.

Anyway, we spent a lot of time here this weekend.  Everyone was very nice and I'm thankful for each one that worked with him.

Funny thing while we were there, I ran into a former co-worker that retired last year.  I saw on FB that he was in the hospital and expected to be there all weekend.  I left a note on FB that I was in the hospital right now visiting.  His wife commented and gave the room number and he was just down the hall 4 rooms, so I stopped in and visited for a few minutes.

Hubby also ran into a lady that he went to college with over 30 years ago.  Her mom was a patient.  They hadn't seen each other since school.  They enjoyed visiting together for a bit.

Small world isn't it?

Beautiful Evening Skies:  The other evening Lucy and I went out for a walk and the sky was just so beautiful.  Loved how it was so yellow.  Thank you God.  Skies are one of my most favorite things you created for us.  I just feel like you show off so much how creative you are with them.

Colton:  I am just so totally thankful for this little guy.  He's up bright and early and totally enjoying and devouring a donut!  Look at the laughing face!

So, what are you thankful for right now.

Things I'm thankful for.

Eye Exams:  Hubby had his annual eye exam on Wednesday and all was very good.  Very little change in his eyesight and still only needs readers.

Answered Prayers:  My friend had surgery yesterday and God so answered prayers and everything went well and the worst didn't happen.  Praising God today!

Lucy:  This little one turned 6 last Saturday.  We're not sure of her exact birth date, but chose August 17th to be the day.  I can hardly believe we've had her for almost 6 years.  Her gotcha day is December 20th, 2013.

Here she is on Gotcha Day

And this is her after her last grooming.
She really doesn't even look like the same dog, but we love her so much and she brings so much joy and laughter to our life.

There are so many more things I'm thankful for, but I'll catch some of them next time.

Thanks for visiting.
