If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Do you like your name? Were you named after someone? If you have children how did you settle on their names?
I didn't like it when I was younger, but I really don't mind it any more.  It's just plain, old Cathy and I'm okay with that.  As far as I know I was not named after anyone and neither are my kids.  we just liked the names we gave them.

2. How do you define success?
Making it home to heaven and hearing Him say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

3. Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy?
Wheel of Fortune...love this game.  Not so much with Jeopardy.  I don't think I'm smart enough for Jeopardy.

4. If you could own any single object that you don't have now, what would that object be?
Lifetime free pass to Disney World (that covers everything).

5. What is something that inspires you?
Seeing God prove Himself faithful in my life.  He's been doing that a lot lately.  Actually, I know He's always been doing that, but lately He's been showing me so I would see Him.

6. Meatloaf-yea or nay? If its a yay how do you make yours?
Yea but I don't make it.  Hubby does. Could be why it's yea.

7. Which is more admirable-the ability to organize and be methodical or the ability to adapt and make do?
Both make life a little easier.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
We're supposed to get lots of snow tomorrow.  I am so ready for this to be done.

Siesta Scripture Memory

Beth Moore at her blog is hosting the Siesta Scripture Memory Team again for 2011. On the 1st and 15th of each month they make a post and anyone who wants to participate can leave a comment with the verse you plan to memorize. By the end of the year we should all have 24 verses memorized. I think that's pretty cool and I think it's something I can handle doing. I don't know about you, but I've never memorized 24 verses in a year before. But I'm on #2 starting today.

My verses are:

1 - “From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” Isaiah 43:13 NLT

2 -
“Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.” Isaiah 46:10 NLT

As you can see, I've also put them in my sidebar so I'll see them every time I come to my blog.  So if you want to participate, go here for Beth's directions and go here to post your scripture for week 2.  I think it's going to be pretty neat to have this much more scripture hidden in my heart.

52 Weeks, 52 Letters in 2011!

I first saw this challenge on my friend, Rebecca Jo's blog and then I saw it on Sara's blog and she directed me to MiMi's blog.

I have never written a lot of letters, but I do send cards from time to time.  I like to make cards too.  So I think I'm gonna try this challenge.  I know I love to receive letters and cards and I know other people do to.  So hopefully, I can give someone some joy or maybe encourage someone every week this year.

The details from the blog in her post were,

“One piece of “real” mail sent out each week. It can be a letter, a postcard, a care package, a thank you note, handmade art, etc. I’m searching for all of the cards and stationary I have collected over the years and gathering them into one place with pens, envelopes (regular & padded), lots of stamps (.28 & .44), a glue stick, unlined index cards (great for making postcards), and a few USPS Small Flat Rate boxes. Oh, and I’m updating my address book.”

So, now I think I'm going to join in and see if I can accomplish this.  I think this is going to be such a rewarding goal for 2011!  I know I'm starting late, but I just wrote my first letter (before I posted this).  It's to my Compassion sponsored child.  So one down and 51 to go.

52 Weeks, 52 Letters in 2011!

I think I'm gonna like this challenge. Who knows, if you e-mail me your address, I may even send you a letter or card. Or... Why don't you join in with us?

My Thoughts: This was a really cute book about a little bear learning that there are all kinds of bears, who look all different ways, and eat all different kinds of food. So she got to learn just because they were all bears, they were all different and in some ways and the same in other ways. Very cute and nice illustrations too.
