Memorial Day

Today has been a good day. We started out by sleeping in. I got up at 9:00am. I can't even tell you when the last time was that I slept that late. Next we went out and trimmed the bushes, pulled weeds, planted flowers and swept the porch, etc. Then we all got cleaned up and went to McDonald's for lunch.

Next we went to Kings Island Amusement Park. We got there around 2pm and had to have our pictures taken for our season's passes. We bought them about a month ago, but this is the first time we've been. Anyway the girls rode their new coaster called Diamondback. Below is a picture of them right after getting off the ride and also a picture of the first big hill. They said it was an awesome ride. Next they rode another one of their big coasters and while hubby and I waited it started to rain. My hubby doesn't ride coasters. The last time he was on a coaster it was at Kings Island when he was in his early 20's. He prayed to the Lord, "If you let me get off this ride alive, I'll never ride another coaster." He says when they were on the first hill, he was sure he could hear the angels singing, "Nearer My God to Thee." I always crack up when he tells this story. Anyway, he's always stuck with his promise!! So sometimes I ride with the girls and sometimes I just wait with him. Today I just stayed with him. We love to people watch and that is what we did while the girls rode. Anyway, it started raining so we left around 5pm and now we're home and relaxing for the evening. I think I'll go watch a movie soon.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone!!!

  3. I always LOVED the coasters as a kid and even in my 20s and 30s. Not sure how well they would agree with me these days, lol.

Sounds like you guys had a great day! :)

  5. First, I am a pastor's wife too, so it's awesome to meet a fellow P.W! Are you a part of the Married to the Ministry blogroll?

That's all blogs of pastor's wives. If you go on my personal blog and look on the right sidebar down toward the bottom, you'll see it (Married To The Ministry button).

BTW, there's a link to my personal blog on the Five Moms blog. Just look for Nan and you'll see it.

Anyway, my hubby and boys love rollercoasters but I get motion sickness. So I am always waiting for them! I always try to bring a good book along!

  6. For some reason, I LOVE that your family went to McDonald's for lunch on Memorial Day (maybe because not grilling out would be considered heresy where I'm from).
I'm with your husband on the coasters!
