If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. April showers bring May flowers...what have you been showered with this month?
The only thing I can think of is memories.  Memories from looking at all our pictures from past Disney Trips.  Memories of the girls growing up and loving Disney as much as there daddy and me.  Memories of them watching parades, riding rides and visiting with the characters.  Memories of the 2 day drives to Florida.  Just memories of our family being together doing something we all love.

2. What is the nature of compassion?  Is it learned or innate?  Can compassion be learned?  If you're a parent is this something you've purposely sought to instill in your children, and if so how?
I'm not sure but I think compassion is learned.  I think our children learn compassion by watching us be compassionate.

3. Do you prefer to watch romantic comedy or romantic drama...or are you rolling your eyes saying bring on the action flicks?
I like all three.  It just depends on what kind of mood I'm in as to which one I'll watch at any given time.

4.  It's April which means baseball season is officially upon us here in the US of A. Humphrey Bogart is quoted as saying "A hot dog at the ballgame beats roast beef at the Ritz." Agree or Disagree?
While I love eating a hot dog or brat at a ballgame, I'd much rather eat prime rib at a nice restaurant.

5. What's something in your community or city that needs fixing or improving?
Some of our streets need to be repaved.

6. Share a song you enjoy that mentions flowers or a specific flower in its title.
You Don't Bring Me Flowers Any More by Neil Diamond and Barbara Streisand

7. April 22nd is Earth Day...do you believe there's life on other planets?  That wasn't the question you were expecting was it?
I think it could be a possibility. I can't say that I believe that there is, but I just believe it could be possible.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I got a new sectional couch given to me by my brother.  I also have laminate wood floors.  The sections to the couch slide apart and the couch moves very easily every time anyone sits on it.  Do you have any suggestions to help with this issue? Here's a picture of it below.

We just got this yesterday, so I'm not sure if this is how we'll end up with it in the room. There is actually another section to come too. We may or may not be able to use it.

See my A to Z Challenge post is here.

  3. How about a large throw rug for your floors? That might help! Wonder if you might buy some of that sticky backing (I can't remember what it's called!) that you lay down on hardwood or tile floors to prevent rugs from slipping all over the place? Home Depot and Lowe's sell it in their carpeting dept. You might be able to cut smaller pieces of it to put underneath the legs of the sofa to prevent it from moving. Just a thought. I am a huge Neil Diamond fan...how did I forget about that song?!

  4. Hubby says to put the legs in a rubber-type cup to keep it from sliding on your new floor. Love the colour.

  6. I'd LOVE to have a nice big sectional. Sorry that I don't have a solution to your moving furniture situation.

  7. Wow, great sectional! I always hoped I taught my children to be compassionate. Now I am hungry for a big ol' Chicago dog!

  8. Love that sectional! I was wondering about the same thing that April suggested. One of the furniture stores may have a suggestion.
    Love that song!

  9. Wow, that's a big sofa! Looks very comfy. I would guess something like has been suggested for keeping rugs from slipping. Maybe even that stuff that's made for shelves and cabinets? If you need something 'sturdier' maybe a rubber bath mat cut in squares under each leg? Good luck! Oh, and great song!

  10. I agree that we can be an excellent example to our children about compassion. I'm with you on the hot dog and also eating at the Ritz! Great song with Neil Diamond and Barbara. I am sure there is something you can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot to keep the sofa from sliding.

  11. I think you can buy something like a rubber gripper for the legs of your sofa...check at Lowes or Home Depot. You could also get a small area rug to put under it. I have hardwood floors with area rugs...you can still see the wood which I like
