If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

My Weekend

We had a nice 3 day weekend. Those are always my favorite kind (the 3 days, I mean).

Thursday after work, we picked my sister up and we all went to my brother's house for New Years Eve. There was family, good food, games, good conversations. It was just a really nice evening. We left around 10:30, to take my sister back home and then we were home by 11:50. I decided to sit up and watch the ball drop and he said he was going on to bed. But sweetie that he is, he came back in during the countdown so we could have a New Year's kiss. Love that man.  Here are 3 pictures from that evening.

The adults are playing some kind of word game and the kids are just playing.

There was even a jigsaw puzzle set up and some were working that.

This is where I spent most of my evening just sitting in the living room and enjoying conversations with different ones that came in and out.  We heard some really interesting and entertaining stories.

On New Year's Day, we relaxed around the house in the morning and then we went to Outback for lunch. We both had a really good salad, baked potato and rib eye steak. It'd been quite a while since I'd had a steak. Yummy!! After that we went to Walmart to pick up some necessities and then to visit my dad. He was not having a very good day. Some are good and some are not.

After that we went home and we watched "War Room" again. Such a good movie and a really good way to start out the new year. I'm all fired up to spend more time in God's Word and especially in prayer.

Saturday we relaxed again in the morning and in the late afternoon we went to Blaze Pizza and then I did some laundry and just spent the evening relaxing and knitting.

Sunday we had church and then went to lunch with hubby's parents and his brother and family. While we were there my cousin and his family came in and then my sister and her husband and my brother and his father-in-law. We ended up having almost a third of the restaurant. It was fun trying to talk and interact with everyone. Back to church that evening and now I'm back to work.

So that was my weekend in a nutshell. How was yours?

  1. Your weekend sounds eventful, but in a relaxed sort of way. I used to love 3 day weekends, too, but once you're retired, every day is like Saturday :) It's good that your "sweetie" came back through for that New Year's kiss :)

christmas for another year, and gave the house a good cleaning. Wasn't fun at the time, but I am loving it now, lol. Have a good week!

  6. It all sounds so perfect. I love staying up until midnight for the kiss! How awesome that you got to spend time with your family. We are always alone on New Year's Eve and I enjoy watching the NYE shows. I hope to have War Room coming soon on DVD from Netflix.

  7. We have brought in the New Year together for over 30 years now. We haven't missed any since we got married, although 2013 was rolled in in a hospital room with a nurse walking in right as the ball dropped. Oh well...thankfully, David made it to that New Year's Day. He had almost died a month before. I am glad that your husband decided to join you for the New Year's kiss. :)

It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was pretty relaxed, too, and we didn't leave the house much at all. It was raining and overall dreary, so staying home was fine by me.

    Have a wonderful New Year!
