If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Click the button above if you'd like to participate in the Hodgepodge.

1. What's something in your house you'd like to get rid of but can't?
One of  the bedroom suites we have.  I don't care which one, but we just have too many dressers and chests.  One belonged to my in-laws and hubby wants to keep it and other other belongs to my daughter and she doesn't want us to get rid of it.  I have a feeling she's going to lose as she's living in Florida and I don't see her moving it there and I don't see her moving back here anytime soon.  Sorry Kelli.

2. When is the last time you experienced a sense of nostalgia? Elaborate.
Lately, it's been any time I see pictures of my mom and dad.  I remember the good times we had and how I'd love to have another Saturday Family Night again.

3. You're only allowed three apps on your smart phone or tablet...which three do you keep?
YouVersion Bible App, Instagram and The Weather Channel.

4. July 11th is National Blueberry Muffin Day. Who knew? Do you like blueberry muffins? If you were going to have a muffin would blueberry be your choice? What's the last thing you baked?
Yes, I like blueberry muffins.  I'd prefer banana nut.  I think the last thing I baked was a chocolate cake and that would have been months and months ago.  I don't bake too often, because I would eat it all and I don't need it especially since I'm trying to eat very low carb.

5. What's the biggest way you've changed since you were a child? In what way are you still the same?
I guess the biggest way I've changed is I grew up!  lol   The way I am still the same is:  I still love Jesus, playing piano, singing and reading, just like I did when I was little.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Hope you all have a great day.

Cathy

  1. Oh, I am feeling you on #1. I've already told my daughter now that she has bought her own home (that has waaaay more storage space than mine does) I will be bringing her all the stuff she has left here. My one concession is that I will wait until she finishes unpacking her boxes.

That's my favorite Peanuts cartoon. I've shared it several times on Facebook.

Have a blessed and happy day!

  2. Banana nut is a favorite of mine too. I guess I like most muffins. I'm trying to downsize and it's hard to get rid of stuff you think somebody in the family might want. Very good advice in your cartoon! Have a wonderful day!

    1. I really need to print that out and hang it where I can see it off and on through the day to remember to be more grateful.

  6. Grateful is good! Love our random thought. I was just looking at photos of my parents last night. I liked your comment about how you've stayed the same. The Lord always loved ME, and I can remember Him wooing me when I was a child and a teen. Thankfully, I've learned to love Him back. "We love because He first loved us." 1 John 4:19 As always, it's a pleasure to read your blog.

  7. I have a couple of pieces of furniture that go with my daughter's bedroom suite. I'm like you . . . she's about to lose it if she doesn't take it. I'm so ready to purge the house of stuff we don't need!!

  9. That's a great random thought! We do need more gratitude. I'm going to have to go back to the beginning and find out about "TCKK". I know TCK as "third culture kid", but TCKK is new for me.

    1. TCKK are the initials of my husband, me and both girls first name. When I started 10 years ago, both girls were still home and lots of the posts were about them and things our family did.

  10. At the end with the furniture of everybody you become a kind of storage room ! Mr. G. doesn't want to get rid of 1000 (or nearly) books he never looks at anymore and which only take dust ! I want to give them away !

    1. Yep, hubby and I have a lot of books too. I think it's time we start thinning those out too.

  11. The furniture shuffle is tricky. In the end I tell myself it's just a piece of furniture, but we do hold some sentimental attachment to hubs grandmother's bedroom set. I am hoping my daughter will take that when she gets married as it's a beautiful antique set and was always in her bedroom growing up. It doesn't fit with the lake house, but newlyweds might need furniture for a spare room. We'll see I guess. Enjoy your day!

  12. We have some stuff in the garage that belongs to Amber and Dylan that we need to get rid of. I don't know why I didn't say this in my post!! I was thinking of what I would want in an emergency on my phone. I don't bake too often either. I can't eat like that anymore. I like your random!

  13. I'm always sentimental when it comes to thoughts of my mom or my childhood. I understand.
