Thankful Thursday

Click here to join in with Rebecca for Thankful Thursday.

Things I'm thankful for:

**Walk:   Hubby and I went to a park to just sit and relax and then I decided to take a walk and ended up just shy of 2 miles.  I'm trying to build up to be able to do a 5k at the end of October that I've signed up for.  I was pleased with my results and also with some of the beautiful scenes I saw.
Little island out in the middle of the lake

Ducks (or maybe geese, I can't tell) on the shore

Duck in the water

My walking path

I love that my watch maps and gives this information.
I'm enjoying crocheting this new stitch (new to me) called the waffle stitch.  Working on a baby blanket for a friend.

Love when Lucy comes and sits with me in the evening.  I'm afraid hubby is going to have to fight her for his blanket when I'm finished.  I guess I'll have to make her one too.  lol

Of course as always I'm thankful for my grandson.  He's shopping with mommy and must have thought he needed this toy.  Of course, Gigi has already bought it for him for when he comes to my house.  There will definitely be some bowling going on.  lol

I'm thankful for Rebecca who keeps this Thankful Thursday stuff going.  I need this reminder to stay thankful in all things.

I'm also thankful for everyone who participates and also for all of you who read my blog from time to time.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. I need to find a park in which to walk.. Alas, I cannot think of a good park around our area... I may just pick a neighoborhood with sidewalks... But yes, I do need start a walking regimen!

    1. I usually walk in our neighborhood, but this park was just so nice and I'm glad I got to walk there. I'm sure I'll be back.

  2. Nice job on the walk! I think you will be able to do that 5K, no problem. I loved reading about how you "spoil" your grandson. I would have done the same thing for mine! :)

  3. What a lovely park (those are ducks...short necks) and you're working up to a 5k?! Wow, you go, girl! Still loving that blanket. Is the yarn made of fleece? It looks so soft and cozy? I'm like you...love spoiling our Colton, too (just a little).

    1. I agree, the park is very nice and yes, I'm doing the Great Pumpkin Run. I did it last year, but I struggled through (although, I did complete it). I'm hoping to do better this year. It is kind of like a fleece, it's Bernat's Blanket yarn. Love working with it. Isn't spoiling grandsons just the best. lol

  4. So proud of you for doing this walking and to have such a great goal! May God give you the strength to keep going! We have just moved to a new house/neighborhood, and our walking route is not as nice as we've enjoyed in the past, so we may be looking for a park to walk in as well. We gotta do it...get too flabby and weak when we don't stick to our walking routine. You have inspired me to get back at it...

    1. I agree Pam. I've been rather lazy about it this summer (so hot) but have at least walked the dog several times a day. I'm determined to do better and do this 5K better than last year. It's so important to keep us stronger and breathing better.

  5. I love you & your hubby spend such quality time together.
Good for you doing another 5k - I signed up for 3 races & a half marathon for next year. Trying to slide back into the game... I gotta start building up too!!!!
I bet your hubby will be happy to share with Lucy :)

    1. Spending time with hubby is my favorite thing in the world. As long as I'm with him, I'm happy doing anything or nothing. I love that man.

  8. I don't always comment, but I love your Thankful Thursday posts! I'm usually frantically busy on weekdays, but I should try to pop in and join from time to time. That new stitch is pretty. I crocheted a blanket once with a VERY simple stitch. It fell apart in the middle! Yikes! Thanks for sharing.
