Thankful Thursday

Click here to link-up with Rebecca Jo.

I have taken up the challenge put our by my husband two weeks ago in his sermon.  The challenge was to start a Gratitude Journal.  So these things are coming from the journal, although there are more in the journal than I am putting here.

**I love this verse that came up in my Bible reading on Friday morning:  Romans 8:38-39 "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."
I'm so thankful that this is true.

**On Saturday I walked a 5K in our neighborhood.  I'm so thankful to be able to do this and I hope to do it more often.

**We saw a lot of hot air balloons this weekend.  It always makes me so happy to watch them.

**Lesson learned this Sunday:  "If you base your identity on what others think of you, you are worshiping them.  God's opinion is the only one that matters.  It only matters what God thinks about me."

**Lunch Sunday afternoon with hubby's parents and his brother's family.  I'm so thankful that his daddy is still able to go out with us each week.  His health isn't the best, but he keeps on going.

**Hubby and I had some goodies from Starbucks on Sunday also.  It was so good.

**I think I've said it before, but I'm so thankful for being able to get audio books from our Library.  I listed to "The Christmas Secret" by Donna VanLiere while at work.  Makes the day go so much faster.

**Enjoyed a video chat with Kerri and Colton (sometimes) Monday night.  Colton is so funny.  Sometimes he'll talk and others not so much.  But it's always good to get a look at him.

**So thankful Colton does not have to have surgery.  He has a small cyst on the back of his leg, but the surgeon said it will dissipate on it's own and if he was his grandson he would not do the surgery.  He said if they removed it, it would be very likely to come back, but if left alone it should go away.  His mommy just has to keep an eye on it and if it grows any just go back.  I'm believing God's going to take care of it.

So there are some of the things I'm thankful for.  I'm finding that the little things are sometimes the very best things.

Thanks for visiting.

Cathy

    1. It's been awhile since I've actually been in the library. I get the books for my Kindle and for audio through their online app. However, I truly love going into the library and hope to do that again soon.

Have a great vacation and enjoy those books!

  5. Thank goodness and all praise to the Lord for Colton's good report. He will indeed take care of everything. Good for you taking the dare to keep a gratitude journal. I answered you about what kind of planners/journals I use in the comments on my blog. I hope it will help you. Have fun!

  6. That is good news that Colton doesn't have to have surgery. Wonderful that the doctor is looking out for what is best for Colton. Praying it will go away. Yes, you have some wonderful things to be thankful for. It's so good to keep track of our praises in a journal. I need to do that again. Sounds like you've had a great week.
