If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Thankful Thursday

Here are just a few things I'm thankful for right now:

**Hubby and I went to his parent's home and we spent some time just sitting and talking with his mom.  Any prayers you would want to send their way would be appreciated.  She's taking care of her husband as his health is getting worse.  Hospice has been called in and help where they can.  Hubby and his brother try to help as much as she will let them, but the biggest part of the care is on her. She sure amazes me.

**Went to the library for the first time in quite a while and checked out actual books.  Usually, I read on my Kindle or iPad.  It's nice for a change to read a "real" book.  Plus I just love our library.

**Have had Starbucks twice this week.  We typically don't go more than once or twice a month or even less.  But boy was it good.  Hubby even got his drink free the last trip because of the Star rewards we had earned.

**Thankful for my hubby for his easy to understand teaching on Wednesday nights on our Ask the Pastor Studies.  Last night was so excellent.  He taught us about Jewish weddings back in Bible times and then related it to the types and shadows between the old covenant with the Israelites and the new covenant with the church today.  Totally loved this. I had heard most of this, but he just made it so easy and clear to understand.  Sure love that man as my pastor, but even more as my husband.

So what are you thankful for this week?

  1. Sending prayers for your mother in law and father in law. I have't had a Starbucks in years but always enjoyed a green tea frappuccino. I'm thankful that my lungs are feeling better and hopefully I can get Christmas put away. Also thankful that I was excused from jury duty!

  2. Praying for your in-laws. Being the primary caregiver is such a hard, hard thing to do.
I love your kind words about your husband! I love my husband, but I can't help but wonder how much more our lives would be if he was a practicing believer.

  3. I love switching between my Kindle & a real book... funny enough, I'll actually do both sometimes - I keep my kindle up on my computer so I can read at work -but then hold the book at home. I try to find books on the library that I have the hard covers :)

  4. Praying for your inlaws. I know how difficult this is, and also how it becomes such a great concern for the children of elderly parents. May the Lord give your MIL strength, and also wisdom for you all. I just joined our local library here in our new town where we moved to in August. I've been too busy to think about it until now, and now I am so glad to have some real books to read again! I do not do e books. I love the feel of real books in my hands. Much more relaxing to me. I love that you have a wonderful Pastor/Husband. My husband was my pastor for many years until we retired, and it has taken me a while to get used to other pastors and not compare their style of teaching/preaching with my hubby. But now we are both enjoying not having all of that responsibility for a church, and can enjoy being a parishioner and helping in the areas where we feel led to serve without feeling like we have to be in charge of everything. That is a real relief after so many years. But I do still miss my hubby's preaching sometimes. Although we do have boxes full of cassette tapes! (and no tape player in the house anymore! what to do with them now!!)
