Tuesday 4

1. Do you think the 4th is an important holiday? Why , why not?
Yes, I do think it's important.  I love our country and am proud to be an American.  I'm thankful for each one who gave their life for our freedom and never want to take that for granted.

2. How do you celebrate? If you are not American, do you celebrate your nation's national holiday?
A lot depends on the weather.  Now that our girls live in other states, hubby and I will go watch the parade in the town he grew up in, weather permitting and then we like to watch the local fireworks (our little town does this on the third).  Not sure if all of this will occur this year or now because of the Covid stuff.  I know our town plans the fireworks, not sure about the parade though.

3. In the time of Laura Ingals Wilder,  all Americans read the Declaration of Independence every year on the 4th and lemonade was a big treat for the town picnic.
I've not read the Declaration in quite a while.
Do you read the Declaration of Independence? Or, your nations important papers?
I have but not recently.
How about lemonade? Are you a fan?
Yes, I like lemonade, especially pink lemonade.

4. Picnic, eat inside the house or eat out for the 4th?
I prefer eating inside.  I do not do heat very well.

  1. I like all of your answers. A parade would be fun! I'm proud of our country also. Hope you see some fireworks. I've always enjoyed the ones on TV too, not sure they are doing any this year.

  2. I LOVE your answers! I am proud to be an American and love my country and all those who fought for freedom. I have always loved a good parade. Everything is cancelled here. But the people who still shoot off fireworks, illegally, all night long it seems. I hope you have a fabulous Fourth of July. HUGS xo

  3. I do not do heat very well either and on the 4th at my house there are fireworks that can go off at any time of the day. My dogs are scared, so I usually stay close.
I want to say they have canceled the parades here, but I live in the country and people WILL be setting off fireworks. Loved your answers! Have a nice holiday!

    1. Thanks Lori. We have people who set them off in our neighborhood too. Our dog is also terrified! We count on not getting much sleep for a night or two because of her barking at them.

  5. I've no idea if Independence Day festivities are being planned here -- actually, I'm hoping for rain so our dogs won't be frightened by fireworks. I'm all about staying inside, cool and bug-free!

  7. We will have a quiet day this year as none of our extended family can come for the day and I don't think we will do anything extra. But I say that today, and it could change by Saturday. We shall see. Pink Lemonade sounds good. And yes, I should look up the Declaration of Independence and read it again. I think we need to be reminded of what it says. Great idea!

    1. I know they plan to do fireworks but have canceled the festival. We never went to that anyway. We just find a place to go to get a view of them. Usually a parking lot.
