Thankful Thursday

"This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24 NKJV

Sometimes you just have to choose to rejoice and be glad.  We got word this morning that another cousin has passed away.  That's 4 cousins or their spouses that have passed away  in the last few weeks.  Instead of being angry, I choose to trust that God knows what He is doing.  As far as I know, they all knew the Lord and are with him now, reunited with other family members.  We lost another great friend earlier this week too and He is also in heaven.

It seems to me that heaven is getting sweeter and sweeter all the time.  I'm looking forward to the day when I can join that big family reunion.  Don't get me wrong, I don't want to go right now as I still have things to accomplish here.  But won't that be a sweet time when it comes.

Thank you Lord for your blessings on me.  If you don't have the assurance that you will be there, here is the scripture that tells you how to become His child.

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

And this is the reason why.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16

  7. I'm so sorry for your losses. That is a lot of people to lose in such a short period of time. But praise God that they aren't really "lost" just gone before and we will see them someday. God is good.

  8. I'm sorry you've had so many losses lately. It does seem like we have lost an awful lot of people in the last year. I have to wonder if in some cases people just didn't go to the hospital or seek treatment because of Covid. I know here the obituaries show that far more people than normal passed at home. And yes, I am with you in thinking heaven is quickly filling up with all the best folks and it is going to be such a celebration when we join them!

  9. Oh my goodness, Cathy! I am so sorry to hear of yet another great loss of a dear cousin. But yes, aren't we blessed to know Jesus and to know that one day our reunion in heaven will be so much sweeter? I remember my Daddy saying as he was outliving most everyone he knew that the only time he could see his friends and relatives anymore was at their funeral. It was very sad, but he stayed happy until the day God called him home to join them all. I am sure it was a glad day in heaven for him, as it will be for all of us someday as well. (((hugs))) and prayers to you and your family.

  11. You know, I thought I posted a comment the other day...apparently, I did not. I am so sorry for your loss(s). Keeping in prayer. I have quite a few family members who do not know Jesus, and that is so sad...
