If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. August is National Back To School Month...how does that make you feel? Now that I'm not in school and neither are my kids, I really don't have a feeling about it.  Well, except my grandson is starting kindergarten tomorrow and he's so excited so that makes me happy.  He got to meet his teacher last night and see his classroom. He told me that mommy and he had to sleep 2 nights and then he'd be going to school.   Share a back-to-school memory. I was always scared to death on the first day of school.  From kindergarten to my senior year, it was some of the scariest moments for me.

Ready to leave and meet the teacher

Walking in with his dad.
That book bag is almost bigger than him.

At his locker and so happy!

2. Something you've learned in 'the school of life'?
If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

3. Three words to describe your current mood.
Happy
Blessed

4. A summer food you've eaten too much of/are tired of? I'm getting a little tired of corn on the cob, but still have some in the fridge to eat. A summer food you haven't had enough of? Tomatoes fresh from the garden.

5. What small stuff do you sweat that you know you shouldn't? Trying to select the Bible Study to do in our women's group.  But thank the Lord, I made the decision last week and I think it's going to be good.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

  5. He looks so grown up. My oldest grandson is doing a five day pre-k program at a church preschool this year. He would only make the K cut off by two weeks so would be one of the youngest. He'll do kindergarten next year. We did the God of Deliverance by Jen Wilkin the second half of last year. It's the first 18 chapters of Exodus and was so good. We decided to go ahead and do God of Freedom this fall, which is the second half of the book of Exodus. We had the summer off to rest so I feel ready now to get back into Exodus : )

  7. What a sweet young "man". He is so cute and looks ready to go!! Yes, that IS a big backpack! Wow! I hope he has a great time in school. Those were some of the happiest times of my life. I couldn't wait to see all my friends again after the summer was over. Oh, tomatoes...we haven't had any good fresh ones this year. Our vegetable market guy quit doing that this year and there isn't any good place to find good fresh veggies from someone's garden. That makes me sad. I wish I knew how to grow a real garden...but it gets so hot here I know everything would burn up. LOL. And corn on the cob was good here back in May...that's when it is in season. Now I wouldn't trust what I get at the grocery store to be really fresh. But I sure would love to have some one more time before summer is over. with lots of butter... yum. Have a blessed and wonderful week. I am sure your ladies' Bible study will be great. I don't know what our new study is going to be. We start back up after Labor day, but I haven't heard what the topic is yet. Whatever it is will be good I am sure. When you get ladies together to study God's Word, something wonderful always happens!

    1. I agree, it is all good when women study God's Word together. My sister and her husband grow a garden and I've gotten some really good tomatoes this year!

  8. Makes school easier when they are excited to go. Blessings on him. That's one thing I forgot to travel up the road to pick...corn on the cob! Sounds like 1 Peter was chosen for our ladies study in the Fall. Looking forward to it. Hope you have a great rest of your week.

  9. Your grandson is ADORABLE!! This was another fun Hodgepodge and brought so many memories forward! I just bought more corn-on-the cob because I haven't had enough of it. What I miss is really good tomatoes. I need to try planting some. Hugs!!

  10. Yes, that backpack looks huge! Such sweet pictures. Hope he is enjoyed it. Great answer for something you learned. I love your three words. I haven't had enough corn on the cob this year. Oh my, we had to get rid of our garden tomatoes and this year they were amazing. Mark can't eat them anymore because he has silent acid reflex. However, we did enjoy a lot of them this summer before he heard this news. Enjoy the rest of your week.
