Today, I am linking up with Jennifer at My Joyful Life for "Currently", the March edition. We are talking about things we are currently loving, craving, pinning, planning, and appreciating today. So here I go with my thoughts.
I'm currently loving the book I am reading called Sophie's Heart by Lori Wick. I have read this book several times over the years and I love it every time. I'm sure somewhere on my blog I've mentioned this book a time or two. Actually, I searched and found that I had read it for the third time in 2015. I enjoy a good book that I can read over and over every couple years or so.

I've been craving anything sugar/chocolate lately, even more than normal. I'm trying hard to cut back and not eat this too much. I'm getting more fruit and hoping that will help cut the sugar/chocolate cravings.
I don't have anything to post on the pinnings as I don't do Pinterest any more. But if I did, I'm sure it would be all about yarn and crochet.
I'm planning on picking up lunch from the Outback because I want a salad from there. The last couple of days I've been wanting salad for some reason and I think this is where we're going (this is surely a better craving than the sugar/chocolate things).
I'm appreciating my husband very much. He is always my supporter and yesterday he talked me down off the wall several times. Funny, I had such a good report from the doctor, but there were other really stressful things going on and between God and my hubby, they calmed me down before I went too far. After a decent nights sleep and some time with the Word this morning, I'm in a much better space today.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you are having a really good day.
Cathy

I think re-reading a well-loved book counts as self-care. Craving? You're going to think I'm nuts, but I've been craving (and eating) broccoli almost every day for the last few months. Isn't it curious how Pinterest used to be all the rage, then suddenly ebbed. It's a great resource for recipes, but I don' t know anyone who still pins regularly.
ReplyDeleteI liked it for awhile, but I found myself pinning and looking lots and I already was on enough social media, so finally I just dropped that.
DeleteI look at Pinterest once in a while and enjoy seeing all the suggestions it is making for my pinned subjects. But I rarely do much with it anymore except visit once in a while. I understand about the frustrations/issues that sometimes we just have to calm down and de-stress. Glad your hubby was sensitive to your needs and helped you there. We all go through those times. I was actually feeling that way earlier today, and after a nice phone conversation with a friend while sitting outside on my swing I feel much better. Blessings to you my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. I'm glad your friend helped you. God is good.
DeletePinterest doesn't hold my attention like it used to but I do use it often, especially to store recipes I find. My recipe spot is "private". Thanks for your Currently post!! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend too.
DeleteHi Cathy, I do have Pinterest that I like to save ideas. I crave chocolate too, so I try to stick with dark chocolate. I am glad your hubby was there to help you through a rough time. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan!
DeleteWhat a blessing to have a hubbie who knows just how to calm us down...and get us through those hard days. Hope your weekend is quieter - and peace-filled!! Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteOh, with all the Easter chocolate in the stores it is hard not to crave it this time of year. We keep Hershey kisses in our candy jar year round. That way I can have a taste of chocolate without going nuts.
ReplyDeleteI still pin things almost daily. And use my pins, too!! Sometimes, just pinning something like a cute dress keeps me from buying it. And pinning recipes is the best way for me to keep them.
Glad you are feeling better. Sleep can be such a miracle drug. And can be so elusive, too.
Glad you are liking the book you are reading. It certainly is easy to crave those things. Hope you enjoyed your salad. So happy the appreciation you have for your husband. It is so easy to be stressful. Next week I have cataract surgery and also shots in my back. I'm am really stressing about all of it. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think my husband is very good at talking me off ledges and I definitely appreciate that!
