This photo is probably from 1958. That's my brother, Larry then my sister, Beverly and then cousin Marsha and her sister Patty. Patty's holding me. My daughters tell me I haven't changed at all. I still have those fat cheeks. :)

My 5 Favorite Things About Summer

Erica from Scottsville tagged me for "My 5 Favorite Things About Summer!" So here goes....

1. I love the beautiful sunshine during the days.

2. I love the beautiful flowers!

3. I love the evenings that are cool enough to sit out on the front porch with my laptop, my dog and anyone else in the family that wants to be there. Like last night it was me and the dog!! Very relaxing. (no picture for this right now)

4. I love my kids being off and free to have fun (even though I'm at work. grrrrr!)

5. I love the vacations we usually take in the summer and the Amusement Parks we go to.
Now, I tag Nina, Sara, Cathy, Cathy and Lindsay Ann. Have fun ladies. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Prayer Request

Please pray for our good friend Herchel. He starts 2 weeks of radiation today for cancer in his hip area. He and his wife are good christian friends that we love very much. They are true warriors of the faith and we are all trusting God for complete healing for Herchel. She gave me permission to post this prayer request and we are asking for you to pray and trust along with us for his healing.

Monday, July 27th - ducks swimming in the creek behind our hotel. I wanted to get out in this creek but it started raining Tuesday and the creek swelled up and was moving much much faster than I was willing to be in. However, when it wasn't raining I still enjoyed sitting out and listening and watching the water.
Tuesday, July 28th - We did a Subway picnic up in the mountains at Chimney Tops Picnic area. I love this place. Above is KJS hating having her picture taken and below is a picture of one of the picnic areas.


Wednesday, July 29th - Black-eyed Susans - at least that's what I call them.

Thursday, July 30th - This was a display in the lobby of one of the stores we visited and I talked KJS into posing. Poor thing, her sister wasn't there so she had to suffer through all the picture taking. If you look at her hands you can see the new cell phone. Trust me, it never left her side and was usually in her hands being used!!!! ;)

Friday, July 31st - This is a picture of the creek from the ground level parking garage under our hotel on Friday as we were getting ready to leave. As you can tell, it was pouring the rain and the creek was much higher than at the beginning of the week.

Saturday, August 1st - Ok I cheated on this picture. I actually took it today but I received this book in the mail (which I won in a contest from Mocha Momma) on Saturday. So that sorta counts....right? :)
