Thankful Thursday

 

I am so thankful for so many things.  I feel like I am blessed beyond all measure and the biggest blessing is that Jesus loves me!  Why?  I don't know, but it makes me very happy.

I am thankful for my brother and sister and how the three of us came together to be there when our sister passed a couple of weeks ago and how we all worked together to take care of all the stuff that has to be taken care of at a time like that.  Now, there are 2 of us in heaven and 3 of us who are still here on earth.  Some day we will all be there together.  I can't wait, but yet I really don't want to be on the next boatload.  I have lots of things I still want to do, like watch my grandson grow up!

I'm thankful for my husband and how he loves me no matter what!  I hope we have many more years together.

I'm thankful for my girls and their husbands and my grandson.  I am so in love with our family.

I'm thankful to still be here and I'm getting ready to head down to the beach to try to find some sharks teeth.  I haven't found too many in the first week.  Hoping to do better this week.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day.  Tell me something you are thankful for.  I would love to know.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

 

1. Are you too hard on yourself or not hard enough? Elaborate. I think I've always been a little hard on myself.  Bad habit of comparing myself to others.  I think I'm getting a little bit better at accepting myself as I am as I'm aging.

2. What's the role of gratitude in your life? I think it's very important.  One of the things I love about our trip, is the ocean and the skies always make me think of God and how He created all this for us (for me!)!

3. Where do you get your news these days? How much attention are you giving it currently? Really, I don't watch or listen to the news at all.  If I hear about something going on, then I google it to find out about it.

4. Do you like potatoes? Yes!  Last time you prepared potatoes in some way? How about since I'm on vacation, the last time I ate potatoes, which is Monday for lunch I had a baked potato.  Which of the following is your favorite...baked potato, mashed potato, french fried potato, sweet potato, hash brown potatoes, roasted potatoes, or potato salad? Yes, all are favorites...never met a bad potato!  lol

5. Are you a veteran? Are there any veterans in your family? Will you do anything special to honor them on Veteran's Day/Remembrance Day this year? No, I'm not a veteran.  I have uncles and cousins that are veterans.

6. Insert your own random thought here. Beautiful sunrise Tuesday morning.  God's artistry is beyond compare!

Tuesday 4 - Songs

 

Songs

From Annie:  "Hi Friends and welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.    Are there many people who dislike music?  I doubt it, don't you?  Songs can have a lot of meaning and bring out a good helping of emotion whether happy, sad, nostalgic or funny.    Let's talk about it."

1.  Tell us 4 songs that define your life.   I know.. this one is hard but it's not written in stone!  Feel free to be serious or silly as you choose.  Maybe even some songs that you would like to describe your life! "Jesus Loves Me" because I know it's true and because I've been singing it since I was a child.  "I Can Only Imagine" because I like imagining about what heaven will be like as sometimes I feel that I have more friends and family there, than I have here on earth.  "Brown Eyed Handsome Man" because I used to sing that to my hubby all the time...I need to do that again as he's still brown eyed and very handsome.  Right now I can't think of a fourth song.

2. A song or songs  that are special to you in some way.  "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" is my favorite hymn to play on the piano.

3.A song you and your sweetheart loved, or maybe your Mom's or Dad's favorite?  I mentioned "Brown Eyed Handsome Man" above.  That's the only one I can think of.  

4. A movie soundtrack you have enjoyed, or a theme to a TV program or commercial  you like/liked. Name as many as you like! If you have no favs, then how about ones you remember well?  Some songs just stick in your head!  "Sound of Music" is the all-time best to me.

Bits of This and That

 

Good morning!  I'm getting ready to head out to the beach in a few minutes, but thought I'd stop in here first and say hello.  Hubby and I have had a great weekend here in Myrtle Beach.  We've mostly been very laid back which pleases both of us.  We actually intend to spend our whole time here at a really slow place.  I've been crocheting some (finally finished my lap blanket)  I've been down to the beach all but one day.  It was pretty cold that day and besides I was trying to recuperate from our drive down.  We're watching Christmas movies in the evening and sitting out on the balcony during the day and evenings enjoying the beach and skies.  Also, taking short naps whenever we want.  I'd say that is about a perfect vacation.  Here are a few pictures...WARNING lots of pictures!  lol

Currently - November 2023

 

Today I'm going to do the November Currently Post. It was supposed to be Wednesday, so I'm rather late.  But better late than never, right?  You can link up with Jennifer here, as she is the hostess.  In November, we are talking about what we're currently loving, buying, preparing, excited for, and planning.

Loving:  Being in Myrtle Beach for the next 2 1/2 - 3 weeks.

Buying:  Nothing really...but I'm sure I'll get some Christmas decorations from the Christmas Mouse (wonderful Christmas store here in Myrtle Beach.

Preparing:  to start a new crochet blanket...but I have to finish this one first.

Just this much yarn left to go!

Excited for:  whatever hubby and I get into in the next 3 weeks.  Getting some good food and just enjoying being together.

Planning:  to watch lots of Hallmark and GAC Christmas movies.
