Come on and join in the fun of Hodgepodge. Joyce gives us such fun questions and it's fun to see what everyone else thinks. Just click the button above.
1. What's the best and worst thing thing about growing older?
Well the best thing is that I'm still alive and the worst thing is I can't always do everything I used to be able to do.
2. Autumn arrives this week in the Northern Hemisphere...what one thing do you love most about the fall season?
The beautiful fall colors.
I took this picture in 2010 |
I'm not a big fan of the pumpkin flavor except in pumpkin rolls and pumpkin pies.

4. Since we're on the subject of fall...what's the worst fall you've ever taken?
When I still lived with my parents on the farm. It was a very cold, snowy, winter day and I was carrying a pan of hot water out to my mom to put on the windshield to clean off the ice. I stepped off the porch onto the snowy grass and slipped and fell backwards. I spilled the water all over myself and I cracked the back of my head on the concrete porch. Ouch!!
5. If you could own a prop from any film what would you choose?
Just off the top of my head I would say the house in "Home Alone"

6. What's the most interesting word you've read or learned in the past week?
Chairein which is a Greek greeting meaning Joy to You! Isn't that a wonderful way to say hello? It's pronounced like ki-rain with the ki part as a long "i". Learned this in our women's Bible Study of James, Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore.
7. When was the last time you locked yourself out of your house, car, or office? Was it a big deal?
Can't remember the last time.

I want to show you a picture of Carina. She's 9 weeks old now. I love this little girl. Kerri's holding her after Bible Study. Oh and Kerri (my baby) turned 18 last week. I love this little girl too! She'll always be my little girl.
That fall sounds awful! Cute pictures of your girl too : ) We started Kelly Minter's Nehemiah yesterday and I think I'm going to love it-essentially its on having a compassionate heart and being obedient to what God puts there. Her studies are not as long as the Beth Moore studies. I was really excited to hear we'll be doing the Beth Moore study one on James beginning in January.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
That fall - OUCH indeed! So many bloggers are taking part in the new Beth Moore study. I did an online Beth Moore study about 9 years ago and absolutely loved it. I wish our church would do some of her studies.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the pictures of your baby holding that baby ... doesn't matter how old our girls get, they will always be our babies!
DeleteAhh - cute baby!
ReplyDeleteThat pumpkin loaf made me drool a little!
Me & you need to stay off slick porches!! :)
A house is a prop? I want to rethink my answer then! I'll take the house from "Father of the Bride"!!! :)
Beautiful pictures of your daughter and granddaughter. You need at least a 3 generation picture if not 4.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I think they are both beautiful too. However, that is not my daughter's baby, although I am her honorary grandmother. Both of my daughters and the baby's mother have always thought of each others as sisters and she is like another daughter to me. They are supposed to come to my house this week, so I'll try to get some pictures of Carina and her mommy together. :) You know, you can just never have too many pictures of the ones you love.
DeleteThat fall you took made me wince in pain. And I love that house from Home Alone! I heard it was for sale not too long ago.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is going to break some hearts one day...what a little sweetie! Yes...that house from "Home Alone"...I'd love to move right in, too!
ReplyDeleteWhen you were talking about the fall my heart hurt for you. Did all that hot water splas all over you? Poor you.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a nasty fall. Hopefully the hot water didn't get on you.
ReplyDeleteThat pumpkin roll looks delicious. Ouch....that was a bad fall! John Hughes always used Chicago homes which have stunning brickwork. Sweet baby and Happy Birthday to Kerri.
