Wednesday Hodgepodge

Click the button above to join in the fun of Hodgepodge.  But hopefully you'll read my answers and comment first.

1. So, when did you last take a walk in the woods? A stroll along the beach? A drive going nowhere in particular in the car?
Strolled the beach while in Florida in August this year.
New Smyrna Beach - that's Kerri in the pic

2. Are you sending Christmas cards this year? About how many do you send? Photo card or something more traditional? How do you display the cards you receive?
I'm still planning to, but don't know if I'll get them done or not.  Usually send 30-40.  Just a traditional Card.  I usually put the received card in a basket.

3. What's a word you've heard too much of in the past week?
hippopotamus - you know as in "I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas"  I can't even tell you how many times that has come on the station I listen to at work that's playing 24/7 Christmas Music during the work week.

4. December 13th is National Cocoa Day-are you a fan? Plain or flavored? Marshmallows or no marshmallows?
Definitely a fan.  Love, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Marshmallows yes and whipped cream is good too.

5. What is something you do to help alleviate the hectic pace of the Christmas season?
Take some time to read some good Christmas Romance Fiction.
I'm reading this right now.  Very good!
 6. Besides jewelry, what's a favorite sparkly-glittery item in your home or closet?
I guess my Christmas Tree right now.I'll show a picture on the 19th.

7. Share a favorite line or two from any Christmas carol.
Joy to the world, the Lord is come!   I'm so glad He came...aren't you?

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Sunday, Tracy, Kelli and I are going to an old theater in Cincinnati and watching "White Christmas".  The audience participates and sings along and I don't know what all.  Can't wait to do this.  Plans are to take lots of pics and hopefully I'll get to post them next week.

  1. I love going to movies where the audience takes part! Have fun!

  2. The White Christmas show sounds fun. That's our favorite and I've looked for a stage version in our area but there doesn't seem to be one. My girls used to act out the sisters song. I might be able to get them to do it still. teehee. : )

  3. I don't think I've ever heard the Hippopotamus song...
The show sounds like fun... enjoy!

  4. Oh, I'm so jealous! ;-) Seriously, I would LOVE to see White Christmas on the big screen! I just love that movie. It's going to be on AMC this weekend, so I'll be watching it, too - on TV, though.

I've been to New Smyrna Beach. Almost 5 years ago, we went to Disney World with DD and her family, and on the way home, DH and I drove over to the coast for lunch and a few minutes on the beach.

    Amen to #7!!

  5. We go to New Smyrna when we head to the beach! I haven't heard the hippo song at all yet this year--I feel cheated! And your White Christmas outing sounds like so much fun!

  6. White Christmas will be playing at our theatre next year and have already booked our tickets.

  7. "White Christmas" is such a classic and really puts you in the spirit of the season!

  8. Love your song choice.. simple, but says it all! :)

So question... do you eat the marshmallows? I never had them in a drink... I dont care for them is why. But never knew what you do with them once your done.

  9. I hope to get my cards out on Friday. If you want to hear more of that song Hallmark has an ornament this year that plays it! I need to start taking my pictures for the 19th. Love your song choice and I am so jealous about your trip on Sunday....have a great time! Our show didn't pick that one this year but maybe they will next year.

  10. Ooo! Audience participation White Christmas sounds like such fun!! I hadn't actually thought ab0out it, but our Christmas tree really would be the sparky thing we have that I just love.
