If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Thankful Thursday

Click here to join in with Rebecca.

My husband started a new sermon series Sunday on Worship called "A View from the Mountain".  He mentioned that worship is saying "Thank You" and that is what I'm doing today and what Rebecca has us doing every Thursday.

His main point in Sunday's sermon was "Don't let what's wrong with you, keep you from worshiping what's right about God."  I love this so much.  So many times I am down on myself about something I've done or said and I just don't feel like worshiping God.  But truly, everything is right about God and I need to worship him whether I feel like it or not.  He is so worthy!

So, things I'm thankful for:

**a husband who is my pastor and who can help me stay focused on the right things.

**a wonderful church family, who has supported us and helped us in the good times and in the bad times.

**a great ladies Bible Study group that keeps growing, both in number and also more importantly growing spiritually.  I love these ladies and I know I can ask them to pray for me about something and they really will.  That is a wonderful thing.

**some really beautiful sunsets lately, which means God has let me live another day to see them.  There have also been some really pretty sunrises too, but I haven't gotten a picture of them this week.

1 Thessalonians 5:18  "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

So, what are you thankful for today?

I'm also thankful for you who visit me.

  1. On my way to comment on your Wednesday blog post, I found this one today. We are kindred spiritual sisters. I to am a believer in and follower of Jesus Christ. Both my grandfather and Dad were pastors and my husband was a Minister of Music/Youth/Education, etc. for 50 years before retiring. I happen to be filling in for my husband this next Sunday by teaching our SS class on Colossians 2:1-7. The final part of the 7th verse reads like this from The Living Bible: "Let you lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all He has done." I love what your husband said about being grateful - it truly is all about Him. Thank you for sharing your thankfulness with us today.

    1. Hi Libby! Thank you for visiting. It's so nice to find another sister in Christ to visit with. My grandfather was a minister and my other grandfather sang in gospel quartets. I have truly been blessed with a true christian heritage.

  3. I love how y'all are sweet examples of one of my favorite sayings: "Until God opens the next door, prIde Him in the hallway." Thankful for all my sweet bloggy friends who keep me grounded!

    1. I'm so thankful for bloggy friends too. It's so fun to share ideas and thoughts and bits of life with friends from all corners and not just my own neck of the woods.

  4. What a wonderful list and what a blessing it must be to have your husband be your pastor! I would be over the moon if my hubby would even go to church or discuss matters of faith so the thought of a husband who is actually the spiritual head of his house is something I pray for all the time.

    1. Stacy, I really am blessed. God must have known I needed someone to help keep me walking close to Him and I certainly got that in my husband. I'll pray for your hubby too.

  5. I love this message today. It goes along with the post I did with some notes from Nehemiah. We need to not grieve for our sins, but rejoice and worship the Lord and remember that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Rejoice in Him for all He has done. Your post is a good reminder to do that. So glad you have a God-fearing Hubby Pastor. That is such a blessing. I was also blessed in the same way. Now we are retired, but still trying to practice what he preached all those years! Have a blessed day.

  6. Beautiful photos. You have so much to be thankful for.
I'm thankful that Skye came through her surgery yesterday having teeth removed and a small fatty tumor from her chest area.
