My Weekend

 We had another quiet weekend.

Friday evening hubby and I ordered in a pizza after work and had a quiet evening at home.

On Saturday I worked on packing up some more Christmas.  I'm also sorting out and getting rid of items we haven't used in several years.  This is so hard for me to do because I love all of them, but we just have no need to have all that stuff.  We also packed up a bag of hubby's old sports jackets that he hasn't used in years.  I can just imaging the house is sighing in relief that we're actually getting rid of some stuff.  lol

Later on Saturday we grabbed some lunch at Red Robin and then I made a trip to Hobby Lobby as they had their yarn on sale.  I got 8 skeins to make hats with.  I'm hoping to get some stock built up and to re-open my Etsy Shop real soon.

Sunday was kind of a dreary, cold day but the sunset and sunrise were absolutely beautiful.  God is such a master artist.
Sunrise in our subdivision.

Sunset across the street from our church.

I also started a book called, The Radium Girls.  I heard about it on Stacy's blog.  It's pretty interesting as it's a true story. I had never heard anything about this before.  It's so horrid what happened to these girls.   Hope to finish that sometime this week.

So how was your week?  Are your Christmas decorations still up, down, or in the process?  Read any good books lately?  Do you have an Etsy shop?

  1. We do pizza on Friday nights! Yes it is hard to get rid of Christmas items. I did several bins full a few years ago but will do more next year since I didn't put much out this year. Your hats are so pretty and I love the photos of the sky.

  2. Since we bought the air fryer, Tom's having a ball buying frozen pizzas and dressing them up with extra sausage, etc. I do miss Red Robin. They made the best burgers, and oh, don't get me started on the onion rings tower. :)

  3. Yay! A trip to Hobby Lobby is always a good day! And a big temptation. LOL I have been going through rooms since Christmas, too. Sorting things to donate and things to trash...it's still so full. That's what happens, I guess, when you are a collector and sentimental about things to boot. Have a great week, Cathy!

  4. My decorations have been down since January 2. It always feels good to get things put away. Good luck with your Etsy shop and your yarn/hat inventory!! Keep us posted!

  5. Sounds like a nice weekend. I didn't put up Christmas decorations this year so nothing to take down and put away. I love all the colorful yarn and your hats are adorable! Beautiful sunrise and sunset too. Have a great week :)

  7. Decorations are finally down, well except for my little tree in the kitchen that did have teacups on it. I took them off, but just can't put the little grapevine tree away yet. I love the lights. But I guess I need to let it go. I also am thinking about purging our closets. I don't have the energy to do it today, but at least I am thinking about it. That's a start! Love your hats. They are so colorful and pretty. I wish we needed them here, but then again, maybe I don't...LOL. If I did, I would order one! Have a blessed week.

    1. If I were enjoying the tree then I'd leave it up. You could put hearts on it for February and Shamrocks for March, etc.
