If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? The NFL is back in action along with all the college teams. Are you a fan? Who do you root for? If you're not a fan what do you do while the rest of America watches Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and now Thursday night games?

I am not a fan of football.  Never have been.  However, if I were to root for a team, it would be the Bengals, just because they are the local team.  What I do when everyone else is watching?...live life.  Fortunately, my husband doesn't spend a lot of time watching football either.  He follows the scores and knows what's going on, but doesn't live in front of the TV for football either.

2. What's something I'll always find in your closet?
Shoes and clothes

3. Share one of your earliest memories.
Playing out in the back yard with my brothers and sisters.  Playing such things as army, rollerskating (in the garage), trying to learn to ride my brother's bike, playing in the sandbox and on the swingset.  All these things occurred sometime before 2nd grade.

4. What circus act best describes your week so far?
Juggling -- just trying to pull it all back together after vacation.

5. What's a food you disliked as a child but you love now?
Soup Beans and green beans

6. Describe your summer in three words.
Not Long Enough

7. Where were you on September 11, 2001? Will you do anything special to mark the day this year?
I was in surgery having my gallbladder removed.  I was in recovery when the first tower was hit.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
My baby turns 18 tomorrow!

Weekend Wrap-up and Now Back to Work

We're back home and this weekend we've started to get back into the swing again. We got home Thursday night and got unpacked and the laundry done and the dog picked up from the kennel. Friday we had to grocery shop because we had nothing in the house to eat. Then Saturday we visited with my parents, and did some Walmarting and just relaxed some. Sunday was back to church and I taught Sunday School, hubby preached and it seemed we were back on schedule again.

Now today, it's back to work for me and hubby and our youngest (who, by the way, turns 18 this week) will be back to full-time school work. She does the online virtual school. She's planning to try to do 2 years in one and get her high school finished this year. I believe she can, depending on how hard she wants to work.

Our ladies' Bible Study starts tomorrow night. We are doing Beth Moore's study of James, Mercy Triumphs. I can't wait to get started. Isn't that such a cool name. Mercy Triumphs. Thank God, for his mercy!!!

So vacation is over and now it's time to get back to work. I'm hoping I'll go back with a better attitude and not sweat the small stuff. I'll try to show some pictures this week from our vacation and tell you about it. We had a great time. I'll show two pictures from our trip.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Click the button above to join in.

I'm not home yet. We're leaving Disney this (Wednesday) morning. We'll be home on Thursday evening. Just thought I'd try to play along. I probably won't get to read your answers until Friday.

1. In your opinion what's the most important job in the world? Oh, and parenting is a given so besides parenting, what's the most important job in the world?
Living for Christ in such a way that others will want to live for Him too.

2. Share a favorite or not so favorite memory from a childhood birthday.
Sorry I can't really remember a specific childhood birthday.  I know they were always kept pretty simple.  Mom made dinner (like she did every night) and then baked us a cake and we received a gift.

3. Peanut butter-crunchy or smooth?
Smooth

4. William Butler Yeats is credited as saying, "Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that but simply growth, We are happy when we are growing." Your thoughts?
All I can say is I'm not happy when I'm growing in size!  lol

5. What's something that makes you cringe?
Watching someone make a fool out of themselves.

6. Name a song that always puts you in a good mood?
Most any Disney song.

7. The answer is yes. What's the question?
Did you have a wonderful vacation?

8. Insert your own random thought here.
While I'm not necessarily ready to get back to work, I am so ready to be home.  I love coming home!

Checking In From Disney World

Just wanted to take a second while everyone is getting ready this morning to say Hi. We're having a great time. There's been a lot of extra rain this trip due to Tropical Storm Isaac, but its not dampening the fun too much.

I hope all of you are well. I'll check in with you in another week or so.

Got to go now, almost time to head to EPCOT for the day!

Missing in Action

I may be missing in action around here for the next 3 weeks. We leave Sunday after church for our long awaited vacation. First to NC to pick up our oldest and then to FL to take her to school and about 4 or 5 days of relaxation and then on to DISNEY WORLD for 11 days of fun in "Our Happy Place".

I may stop in from time to time with some pictures and to read some of your posts, if I have time. But, if not, I'll "see" you when I get back.

Before I go, thought I'd leave you with this video. This is my nephew, who is an awesome young man. He plays guitar and actually wrote this music. It's just a clip, but I just want everyone to hear him and to know that He loves the Lord and is praying to use this gift for the Lord's glory.

I hope each of you have a wonderful 3 weeks and I'll talk to you soon.
