If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1.Describe your 30's in one sentence. If you're not yet 30 tell us one thing you hope to accomplish once you hit that particular decade.
Got married, adopted 2 children (ages 2 and 5) and learned  to live as a family together.

2. Is it harder for you to exercise or eat healthy?
Both are hard, but I'm learning to do them.

3. June 7th is National VCR Day. Huh? Anyway this reminded me of something I saw on Facebook listing household items we no longer have and the VCR was on it. I couldn't put my hands on that list, but found another list here of 21 items we all had ten years ago, but which are now obsolete-
bookshelves (WHAT!!???), drip coffee makers, alarm clocks, file cabinets, desktop computers, printers, printed phone books, answering machines, fax machines, paper shredders, a Rolodex, CD racks, CD burners, china cabinets, home phones, entertainment consoles, DVD players, calculators, takeout menus, incandescent light bulbs, and cable TV
Your thoughts? How many on the list do you still have? Still use?
Book shelves for sure, what else are you going to do with your books.  Yes, I have a Kindle but still have a lot of books I don't wish to get rid of.

We still have an alarm clock, but we really don't use it any more.  We use our phones.

We do have a file cabinet, but actually I use a smaller file box instead now.

We both have desktop computers.  I just bought a new MAC computer.

Yes we have a printer and use it and a paper shredder.

We have a DVD player and definitely use it.

We have cable TV too.

4. What's something you see disappearing in the next ten years?

I'm not sure, but on some days (especially days like today), I fear it may be my sanity.  lol

5. How did you celebrate your birthday this past year? Is that typical?
That's been almost a year ago and I can't remember.  But usually hubby and I just go out for dinner somewhere.  We typically do not make a big thing out of birthdays.

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Is the weather strange where you are?  I mean it’s June and I had to wear a hoodie to take my walk this morning at 6:00. What is up with that?

Click the button at the top if you’d like to participate in the Hodgepodge. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Currently I am...writing this post

Reading: 100 Days to Brave by Annie F. Downs (daily devotion)

Listening to: I Heart Bloomberg by Melody Carson (listening to the audio version from my library).

Loving: This fella

He's eating a chunk of ice and is about to stuff another cracker in his mouth
Thinking: I sure could use a Diet Coke this morning.

Feeling: Loved by my hubby, who is going to bring me that Diet Coke after his dentist appointment.

Celebrating: Each day I wake up on this side of the dirt.

Grateful for: Our church family.

Weather: 60 degrees and mostly cloudy.  It's going to rain later.

Enjoying: My morning walks with my puppy.  I'm having to step up the speed some because I need to get my heart pumping more.  That means the puppy can't stop and smell every.single.blade.of.grass!   lol

A quote I want to share:

Hope you are currently having a good day and thanks for visiting my blog.

Weekend

Hubby and I had a great weekend.

Saturday we went to Rocky Fork Lake and then Cowan Lake to just relax and take a few pictures.

We got to spend a little time with our daughter and grandson on Sunday.  They came to church and then we went to lunch afterward.  It was so good getting to see this little one in person.

Typically I'm the one behind the camera, but I was so glad to get someone to take this picture of us.

Sometimes it is hard to get him to look at the camera.  But that's okay.  Here he was looking at his papaw.

Such a sweetie.
Sunday was my mom and dad's wedding anniversary and also both of their birthdays. Mom would have been 85 years old and dad would have been 90 and it would have been their 68th wedding anniversary. I miss them so much, but I know where they are and they are together and someday I'll get to see them again.

That's a bit about my weekend.  I hope you had a great one too.

Sunset on the way to the airport last night to pick up my daughter

Another picture of last night's sunset.  My camera just does not do it justice.  There was a lot more pink and my camera turns it orange.

Another early morning walk picture (I love our neighborhood)

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my pictures.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Thankful Thursday

Today, I am so thankful that I get to see this little guy for a few minutes tonight and hopefully again over the weekend sometime.  I wish it could be longer, but I'll take any time I can get with this face.

I also thankful for the time I got to spend with my brother and both sisters and their spouses and even one nephew on Monday.  My sister hosted us and it was so fun being together.  My family seems to have gotten so small when it was always so large before.  With mom and dad and my brother in heaven and my two girls and one nephew living in other states, it just a small group of us now.  But I love them and thankful for them.

I'm also thankful for the devotion I started on Monday with an Instagram group.  We're doing "100 Days to Brave", by Annie F. Downs.  It started on Memorial Day and I believe it ends around Labor Day.  I would like to be a braver person and hope this will give me some encouragement to step out more.  If you'd like to do it to, the hashtag on Instagram is #100daystobravesummer

So what are you thankful for this week?

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day!
