If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Currently - October

I'm linking up with Jennifer at Overflowing with Thankfulness for October's Currently.   Today we're talking about what we're currently anticipating, admiring, spending or consuming, wanting, and purging or deleting. So here are my thoughts.

Anticipating: Our trip to the beach next month.

Admiring: The beautiful colors of the trees as the leaves are beginning to change.

Spending/Consuming: We're consuming some of the more wintry food such as chili (hubby has made it twice already) and beef and noodles (bought a roast a couple weeks ago and cut it in half and the 2nd half is in the crock pot cooking as I type.)  Can't wait to get home and have supper.

Wanting:  To start crocheting a new stitch.  I've got the yarn and have watched the video, but haven't started it yet.  Planning to start it when I get done with this post.  I think I'm going to make a lap blanket or shawl with it.  We'll see how it goes.

Purging/Deleting:  I'm not sure but why, but recently I've been really bad about not cleaning out my email in-box.  Typically, I clean it out everyday.  But currently, I have over 500 emails there.  I think it's because I get so much trash mail, but I have to check be careful, because I get so many mails that have to do with my retirement and insurance stuff and I have to be careful not to delete any of those. Really, that's just an excuse, so that's something I really need to do today!  In fact, I think I'll do that first and then start the crochet project.

Well, that's it for now.  Thanks for visiting.

Tuesday 4 - Bug Out

 Bug Out!

High winds, tree splitting winds and buckets of rain since yesterday and more on the way. The wind has been howling here for 2 days straight. Ian is on the coastline and not playing nice. We can play nicely though with Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 questions. Are you ready? Since the east coast is experiencing hurricanes and tropical storms let us explore the topic. Okay? Let's Go...
 1. Expert survivalists and weather experts say it is wise to have a bug out bag handy in case of evacuation, hurricane, earthquake or any emergency. You can see online how to create one. Do you have an emergency kit or bug out bag? No.

 2. Do you have plans with your family on where to meet and what to do in case of emergency? No.  But then again, hubby and I are almost always together.

 3. Do you keep your phone well charged and your gas tank topped off ? Mostly. Is your flashlight kept fresh with batteries?Yes, because I use it almost every night when taking the dog out after dark, Do you have a list of what to go where to go? No

 4. How about a little stash of emergency goods and foods to last a week or two?  They say it pays to do this.. do you? No, but we usually always have plenty of canned foods that could be used.

Bits of This and That

It was a good weekend.  Here are a couple of pictures and below them is Sunday's Sermon.

Beautiful skies while out on a walk

I love these little libraries.
So far, I've never taken any out,
but I have put a couple in.

Some of the trees are starting to change.

Here are four aspects of the Soul-Cleansing Power of the Blood from the Sunday Sermon.

1:  The Blood of Jesus removes the stain of our sin.

2:  The Blood of Jesus restores our severed relationship with God.

3:  The Blood of Jesus ransoms us from our broken past.

4:  The Blood of Jesus rescues us from a hopeless future.

When God sees the Blood of the Lamb -- Jesus -- applied to your heart, judgment will pass over you.

I think from time to time it is important to be reminded of these basic truths.

Thanks for visiting.

Saturday 9 - Forever Your Girl

"Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!"  From Crazy Sam and you can link up here.

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.  Saturday 9: Forever Your Girl (1989)

1) In this song, Paula Abdul tells her boyfriend he's got to remember, she's forever his girl. How's your memory? Do you remember things easily or do you leave yourself notes and reminders?  I've never had a very good memory.  I really need to write things down.  I especially had to do that at work.  Of course, there were times when I'd handle a phone call and would scribble some notes down, and then an hour later I'd have trouble remembering what the note was for.  lol

2) Paula reassures her lover that she can't be swayed by another man, even if he gave her diamonds or pearls. Tell us about a piece of jewelry that means something to you. My wedding rings and now I have my dad's wedding band.

3) Paula is best known as one of the original judges of American Idol. Without looking it up, can you recall the men who sat on either side of her? No idea.  I've never really watched the show too much, although now I catch some of the auditions on FB and enjoy them.

4) Paula has been dancing since age 8 and moves very well in heels. Tell us about your favorite shoes. My Skechers and I have several pairs.

5) A lifelong dancer, Paula admits she's not a trained singer. For this record, she worked with producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, who won accolades for his work with singers including Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Toni Braxton and Janet Jackson. Who is your all-time favorite female singer? Not sure I have a favorite, but I do like Rosemary Clooney, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline (and most all of the old-time country singers), Reba, and many of the women from Southern Gospel Music.

6) She advises young girls to "keep the faith and don't lose your gut instinct." How about you? Are you more logical or instinctive? Instinctive

7) Paula is excited that Richard Branson has chosen her song, "Straight Up" as the theme for his Virgin Galactic Spaceflight company. Would you like to orbit above the earth? Yes

8) In 1989, when this song was a hit, the Sears Holiday Wish Book was big on bathrobes. Men and women alike were tempted with brightly colored, belted robes with hoods and patch pockets. Tell us about your bathrobe. I don't have one.

9) Random question: What do you consider your best quality? That I tend to look on the bright side and I try to be an encourager to others.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.
