If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What are your ingredients for a perfect Saturday?
Slow easy morning, reading and cleaning up and then lunch out with hubby and maybe  go watch planes at the airport or head to a lake or the river and enjoy from the banks and then relaxing in the evening, watching TV or a movie.

2. What skill do you wish more people took the time to learn?
Kindness.  Maybe that's not a skill, but people definitely need to practice it more.

3. What's something you ate as a child you can't stand now as an adult?
I can't think of anything.  It's usually the opposite way around.  Things I hated as a child, I love now, like green beans and soup beans, etc.

4. Something parenting has taught you? If you're not a parent tell us one important lesson you learned from your own parents.
Children definitely are little people and they have their own ideas about things and will not like something just because you do.

5. Share a favorite quote or saying about mothers or motherhood.
"Never have more children than you have car windows." --Erma Bombeck

6. Insert your own random thought here.
Sure do love this little boy.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

  1. Nice to visit you today Cathy.

Kindness seems to be a popular answer for #2.
I was the same way on #3 in thinking of what I will eat now that I wouldn't as a kid.

    God bless,
    Bethany

  2. I love your quote about motherhood. It made me smile. Kindness is a skill that truely needs to be taught and learned.

  3. How are they liking Texas? I hear it's hot down there. I agree about kindness. We could sure use more of that around here. So true about children and they should like their own things not just what we like.

  4. Oh yes, I think kindness is something people should learn. I ran into a young mother today, whose child was born with dwarfism. The child was beautiful, with the biggest blue eyes and sweetest smile. I spoke with her for a long time, and when I was going she said thank you. She said she really needed to run into someone like me, who saw the beauty in her baby. I smiled and told her that her baby is a gift from God and sometimes we have to be reminded that every gift he sends us is special. I'm so glad I was in Walmart and not too busy in my head to stop and talk to her.

  6. Well, it might not be a skill, but it is a fruit and should be something we believers try to be. (Can you tell I'm currently leading a group through Beth Moore's study on the fruit of the Spirit?)

  7. I like your Saturday. I can't get Mark to leave the house. Breakfast out would be nice. Maybe when he retires I can talk him into it! We do watch a new DVD from Netflix each Friday and Saturday evening which I love. I was opposite on the food answer also. Erma Bombeck was the best! Happy Mother's day to you....
