If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Thankful Thursday

I am so thankful for all of my family.  I know I've said this many times, but I've just been blessed so much by my family.  They are always there in problems and in good times.  Yes, my girls and grandsons live far away, but they are very good about staying in touch.  I'm okay with them living far away because I know they are happy and that makes me very happy.

My hubby is just the best.  He loves me no matter what (and trust me that no matter what can be a doozy sometimes lol). I can be pretty grumpy sometimes, but he just keeps on loving me anyway.  Why is it the person we love the most is the one we can be the grumpiest with?  I really hate that, but it's the truth.  Maybe it's because we feel safe with them and can just be open with what we are feeling at the time.  However, I'm really trying to be nicer and kinder and less grumpy.  On the other hand, if he's grumpy, I love him too.  I guess that's what marriage is, standing with each other through whatever life brings.

My brother and sisters are a blessing too.  They are always there to help if needed and they are just plain fun to be with.  I can't imagine doing this life without them.

I am also very thankful for my daughters' significant others.  They make my girls happy and are good to them.  Plus I really like them too.

So, as you can see I'm thankful for my family and love each one to the moon and back!!

So what are you thankful for?

Cathy

  1. I love this. it is funny how it works... we sometimes can be the harshest & most awfulw ith family - I think because we KNOW they love us. Mixed up in a way - but I too am so grateful for family that loves me at my worst.

  2. Gosh, your second paragraph nailed me! I'm embarrassed to admit it, but one time last Fall my hubby came to me with tears in his eyes and said how I'd been acting hurt. Talk about feeling punched in the gut! Sure, I still slip -- as does he, but I'm SO grateful for our marriage.

    1. It is embarrassing to admit, but it's so true in my case and something I am really working on. Usually at least I apologize as soon as I realize what I've done and he always accepts my apology.

  3. I agree with you and am thankful for the same (except we have boys instead of girls!). Family and friends are so important. xo

  4. I think you pegged it on the nose with your thoughts of why we are so grumpy with those closest to us. We do feel safe with them and feel free to "be ourselves." I am trying to be less myself these days, too. The calm, happy face I wear most of the time is ripped off and run through a shredder at home more often than I care to admit to. Thank goodness God's patience with us is endless and he keeps giving us time to get it right. I enjoyed your answers and thoughts today. Have a blessed weekend, Cathy!

  5. Yes, I am very thankful for my family too...my hubby first of all, as we have been together for over 51 years and have been through a lot together, but God has kept us together through thick and thin. Our boys are very special...one is in heaven already, but his memory is still strong in our hearts and lives, and the other two are right here handy and such a blessing. We love our daughter in law who is here near us...she is so perfect for our son. And our other daughter in law who is the widow of our son, although she is far away from us in distance, we are still family and we appreciate her and all she has done. Our grandson is handsome and strong and we pray that God will guide him all the days of his life. Yes, I am very thankful for my family and friends and church. God is good.
