Currently - February 2023 and Wednesday Hodgepodge.

Today it's time for the February Currently Post.  You can link up with Jennifer here, as she is the hostess.  This months topics are Things we are Currently Loving, Feeling, Posting, Receiving, and Seeing.

Currently I am:

Loving - Reading through the Gospel's with Annie F, Downs.  Click below if you'd like to check it out and participate.  All 4 gospels will be read each month and each month will be in a different version.  January was NIV84 and February will be the ESV.

Feeling - I'm feeling good and happy and I'm ready for spring,  lol

Posting - Currently and Wednesday Hodgepodge (which has been on hiatus during January).  I'm so glad it's back.  Thanks Joyce!

Receiving - The opportunity to be part of a crocheting group starting today,

Seeing - Some beautiful days and skies, and I've been seeing a few movies this month.  It's been nice.

1. Tell us anything you want about your January. It's been a good month and there are 19 posts you can read here that tells about it.

2. Lake Superior State University posts a list each year of words they think should be banished from the Queen's English for misuse, overuse, and/or general uselessness. The 2023 list includes GOAT, inflection point, quiet quitting, gaslighting, moving forward, amazing, Does that make sense?, irregardless, absolutely, and it is what it is. Which of these words/phrases do you use regularly? I have a tendency to use "it is what it is", amazing and absolutely. Which of these words would you most like to see banished from everyday speech and why?  irregardless (is this even a real word?)  Is there a word/phrase not on the list you'd like to add? Not really.

3. February 2nd is Groundhog Day. What's something that feels repeated in your life right now? Cooking and cleaning up the kitchen.  It seems that I am always emptying or filling the dishwasher right now.

4. What's a food you love that's named after a place? Philly Steak and Cheese.

5. What's the best season of the year to visit your city or your part of the country?  Fall Tell us why. Ohio does fall really well with all the pumpkin patches and apple orchards, etc.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I love this boy!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

  1. Aw, on your grandboy's expression! He looks wise beyond his years.
Amen to your never-ending kitchen work. I'm the dishwasher here, but I'm always surprised how many plates and pans and silver two people can dirty in one day! Enjoy your new class!

  4. How could I forget the Philly cheesesteak? I grew up on those. I enjoy Annie Downs and heard her speak once (in Philadelphia of all places lol) I like the idea of different versions and know my daughter is following along. I feel like I have a lot I'm keeping up with in terms of study and bible reading at the moment, but maybe I'll add this to my walks. Have a great day!

  5. Yes! I feel like I am forever emptying our dishwasher and filling it right back up again. I too tend to use a lot of "it is what it is" and I am definitely feeling ready for spring.

  6. I'm interested in the HodgePodge link-up and I think I might join from time to time. I remember being introduced to Philly cheesesteaks when we lived in south Jersey - I like mine without any extra toppings, but oh they are good! Visiting from Currently

  8. Oh, I hear you on feeling like you are always emptying the dishwasher!! I feel like my hands are always in cold, sudsless water. Blah. So much so, that the skin on the tips of my thumbs has cracked.
I heard the word GOAT all morning after Tom Brady's second retirement announcement of his career. "They" could do away with that word as far as I am concerned. At least when it refers to the greatest of all time. Besides, I like Peyton Manning much better than Brady!!

  9. Enjoyed your February post. Those are words I frequently use too. We have used "it is what it is" way too many times her in Houston. Still haven't left. True, cleaning the kitchen is never ending. Great choice on a food named from a place. Love the photo of your handsome grandson. He is growing up so fast.
