Tuesday 4 = Keep Calm and Repeat

Welcome back!  Thank you so much for joining in with Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.

I hope you are enjoying these.

There are some things we just enjoy quite a lot. Let's talk about it okay?

1. Which book could you read over and over again?  Pretense by Lori Wick or most any book by Lori Wick

2. What movie or TV program could you watch and never tire of watching?

NCIS

Picture from Internet

And for a movie it would be White Christmas.  We watch it every Christmas season and I have been since I was a child.

3. What meal do you like enough to eat several times a week or several times a month?  Got a recipe to share for it?

Hubby's Chili and we probably have it at least once a month, and then if we eat the leftovers it would be at least twice a month.  Hubby created the recipe and I don't know it.

4. What place do you enjoy so much that you go back again and again? Why do you like it so much?

Myrtle Beach in November.  Love it because the crowds are way down and it's usually not too hot.  Plus we've been going there for many years.

Thanks for visiting.

Bits of This and That #2

It's Sunday night around 10:00pm and I am sitting with hubby watching TV.  We're binging the show Castle.  We've been watching this for awhile now.  It's been a beautiful day and is currently 55 degrees.  We've had several days of beautiful weather.  Thursday, we stayed home all day and cooked some (it seems like I spent the day cleaning up in the kitchen) but we did enjoy being home.  I read some, worked on a jigsaw puzzle and did another on Saturday.

Friday we got up early and went to breakfast and then met my sister and her husband to go to an estate sale.  I bought 11 skeins of yarn for a $1.00 each.  It was so fun checking all the crafts and stuff they had for sale.  But I only let myself buy just the 11.

Saturday we went to Kentucky to the Cincinnati Airport viewing area and watched planes landing and taking off.  It was such a beautiful day and there were so many families there with their kids playing in the little park and watching the planes.  Such a good time.  Then we drove back to Ohio along the Ohio River and then back home.

Today we had 2 really good services.  The morning sermon was from John 8 was out the woman caught in adultery and she was brought before Jesus by the religious leaders to see what he would do.  It was such a good sermon. He titled it “Where misery meets mercy.”  Isn't that just like Jesus?  When we are in misery and we come before Jesus, He gives mercy.  I'm so thankful for mercy.  I need it so often and I hope I give it to others, as Jesus gives it to me.  Below is the sermon, if you'd like to have a listen.

I've walked about a mile each afternoon for the past 5 days and I'm so glad to finally have gotten myself starting on this again.  I hope to get healthier and this is my first step towards that.  Below are a few pictures from some of the days I walked.

Well that's about all I have for today.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a really good day.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful to be spending a full day at home with my hubby and the dog. We’re having a quiet morning so far. I finished a jigsaw puzzle and will probably start another one later in the day. I’m hoping to do some reading and maybe start the crochet blanket I’m wanting to make. I’m so happy to have a day like this to enjoy. As I’m typing this, Lucy is in my lap sleeping and hubby is on his iPad. Thank you Lord for a lazy morning.
Sorry Lucy, that is not a very flattering position.
Makes your rear look big! lol

Yesterday afternoon Lucy and I took about a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood. It was such a beautiful day. Today is colder, but I still plan to walk again. I have got to get back into that habit. We both sleep better at night when we take a good walk during the day. So thankful I have my little buddy to walk with.
It was such a beautiful to walk!

I know winter isn’t over yet, but I’m so thankful for the beautiful days we’ve been having this week. And while today is colder and not as sunshiny, it’s supposed to warm up for the next several days. Thank you Lord for every beautiful moment.

Well, that’s all for right now.  If you’d like to join in with Thankful Thursday, you can link up here and here.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Somehow it's March? Is it coming in like a lion where you live? Tell us one fun thing on your March calendar. March is starting like a lamb, at least the first 2 days are.  Reaching the 60's both days with sunshine and blue skies.  Our Women's Spring Bible Study starts in 2 weeks.

2. In what way(s) do you 'march to the beat of your own drum'? Can't really think of anything right at the moment.

3. The Hodgepodge lands on Dr. Seuss Day (March 2nd). Do you like eggs? How about ham? Share a favorite quote from one of his books. Yes, I like eggs and ham both.  I just sent my grandson some Dr. Seuss' books we had here at the house.  Here's a good quote, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot. Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”

4. Have you read Little Women? How about Alice in Wonderland? Did you love them, like them, feel just eh about them? Why is this question in the Hodgepodge today? I have read Little Women and love it, but have never read Alice in Wonderland and in fact have never seen the movie either.  I assume because in Little Women their last name was March and in Alice in Wonderland isn't the hare called the March Hare?

5. How do you meal plan? How often do you shop for groceries? One homemade meal that was on your menu last week or is on your menu this week? I'm not real good at planning ahead too far, but usually the night before we try to figure what we'll have the next day.  Lately it seems I'm in the grocery once or twice a week (because I've been going with my sister's too).  We had kielbasa sausage and sauerkraut and fried apples last night and I made Taco Soup for us to have whenever we want this week.  New recipe from my sister and we tasted just a bit after supper last night and it was delicious.

6. Insert your own random thought here. One of my favorite pictures of my family from many years ago at our happy place, Disney World.

Thanks for visiting today and if you'd like to link up with the Hodgepodge, just click on the button at the top of the page.

A Sentence A Day - February 2022

This is my February Once Sentence a Day.

1 - Tuesday.  Took hubby into work and I stopped in for a bit and used the computer to finish a blog post and then went to the grocery (I really didn't have anything else I needed to do) and stood in line for approximately 50 minutes to check out...Snow or ice coming later this week...but everyone seemed to take it in stride and it was rather fun standing and talking to people and watching their faces when they realized we were almost in the back of the store but we were in the checkout line.  lol

This guy was a hoot.  He was taking pictures just like me.  Said his wife was going to wonder why it's taking him so long.  I told him he was in trouble, except he had pictures he could prove it with.  lol

2 - Wednesday.  I took hubby to work as his van is still in the garage (almost 2 weeks now) and then I went and met my sisters for our weekly shopping trip and then back to church and spent the afternoon there and then we had Bible Study at church where hubby did a lesson on Gideon and the Fleece.

3 - Thursday.  Hubby and I both were home because the weather was pretty bad this day so I did some cooking of potato soup for lunch and a chicken broccoli casserole for supper.

4 - Friday.  We had another day at home where sleet finally stopped and snow started and my guess we got about 2 inches of ice and 3 or 4 of snow.

5 - Saturday.  We finally got out and took a drive and got Chick-fil-a for lunch and I ran into the grocery because I wanted some chips and hubby wanted some pop and then we spent the rest of the day at home, reading (finished reading With You Always Orphan Train #1 by Jody Hedlund) and watching TV and working a puzzle.

6 - Sunday.  Church was cancelled because the parking lot was really bad and later in the afternoon we ran to McCallisters and got a sandwich and soup for lunch and again spent the day reading and working the jigsaw puzzle and watching some TV in the evening and also my baby brother turned 59 today.

7 - Monday.  Finished the jigsaw puzzle I've been working on for the past week or two and then my new laptop was finally delivered today and I'm using it now for this post and so far I'm liking it.

Disney-Thomas Kincaide puzzle my sister got me for Christmas

8 - Tuesday.  Worked another jigsaw puzzle and went to lunch at Chuy's with hubby and then ran into the grocery and got the stuff to make Chicken Tortilla Soup (recipe by Jennifer at Overflowing With Thankfulness) with plans to make it tonight to eat tomorrow.

9 - Wednesday.  I made the soup I talked about above and Jennifer it was delicious!

10 - Thursday.  Got my new laptop set up.

11 - Friday.

12 - Saturday.  Finished a puzzle in the morning and had lunch with Tracy at Texas Roadhouse and then a quiet evening at home. and finished Reading Together Forever by Jody Hedlund.

13 - Sunday.  Super Bowl Sunday so I made a black and orange scrunchie for my cousin as she's a big Bengal's fan...but unfortunately they lost.

14 - Monday.  My sister and I went shopping at Joann's and Walmart and had lunch at Chick-Fil-A.

15 - Tuesday.

16 - Wednesday.  Took my youngest sister to her neurologist appointment and then went to Walmart and had a quick dinner from McDonald's.

17 - Thursday.  Finished reading Searching for You by Jody Hedlund

18 - Friday.  This was our 33rd Anniversary so we went to P.F. Chang's for lunch and just enjoyed a day spent together.

19 - Saturday.  I finished 2 hats and hubby and I went to lunch at Olive Garden

20 - Sunday.  We had church and the sermon was titled "The Lawyer Who Wanted a Loophole" from Luke 10:  25-27...he is preaching a series on Conversations with Jesus and I also made another hat.

21 - Monday.

22 - Tuesday.  I went into church for a bit and did some Bible Study and blogging and then we made meatloaf for dinner and I had fresh asparagus and hubby had roasted brussell sprouts and again a quiet evening at home.

23 - Wednesday.  Went out with both sisters to Walmart and then picked up something for my younger sister and she went home and Beverly and I went to Lowe's and Kroger and got a sandwich from Arby's and then church that evening.

24 - Thursday.  Hubby put a beef roast in the slow cooker and then we added noodles to it for supper...we stayed home all day except for going to pick up my car from the mechanic after and oil change.

25 - Friday.  Went to Red Robin for lunch and came back home and I completed another puzzle and we binged Bones and Murdoch Mysteries and finished reading An Awakened Heart by Jody Hedlund.

26 - Saturday.  Picked up hubby's mom and we went to lunch at Chuy's and then to Joann's and drove around and had the best time talking about all kinds of stuff...past and present.

27 - Sunday.  We had 2 great services on Sunday and in the afternoon I finished a puzzle I was working and started another.

28 - Monday.  I went to the church with hubby for the day and then ran in the store to pick up some hamburger buns for supper along with a few other things, then home for a quiet evening with some house cleaning and puzzle working and a little TV binging.

And that's my month.  How was your month?  Thanks for visiting.
